ALTERNATE
LUNE ASTILLO, reluctantly deems herself a patient. Patient to a summer therapy program, Swan Malachite, helping 'troubled teenagers,' using a new field called psychology?
From being tricked into staying out after curfew by someone she thought was a friend to becoming virtually addicted to soccer, Lune struggles through it all. And as if to kick her while she's down, Lune has to realize after being so stubbornly in denial, that everything she's learned during her summer stay doesn't only apply to the criminally-talented. In fact, if she looks hard enough, those little nuances scatter their own shades across her 'colorful' life like a kaleidoscope.
This story follows a 17-year-old, Afro-Caribbean teenager in 2000 (and maybe a sprinkle of 'friends') as she gradually comes to realize that life is therapy. And maybe there's a bit more of a message in her avoiding therapy. Oh, and that all isn't lost as it seems.
