CHAPTER 21-FACING THE PAST

ATHARV'S POV

Going through the same streets of Mumbai which were once quite familiar to me 5 years ago seems unfamiliar to me now. Each and very corner of this place held some memories , some were good whereas some were bad.

I opened the windows of the car to get some cool breeze .

"Atharv close the window, Raavi will catch cold" said Mahi

I looked at her and saw Raavi snuggling closer to Mahi while sleeping due to the chilly winds so I quickly closed the windows.

The entire ride was silent only Raavi's soft snores could be heard.

We had reached Mahi's penthouse a few hours back and we had already done our dinner and as we were very tired of the long journey we decided to sleep early. Raavi and I slept in the guestroom while Mahi slept in the other room

NEXT DAY

I woke up to Raavi's giggling sound, I looked around my bed but she wasn't there so I followed her sound of her giggles and found that she was with Mahi in the kitchen. While Mahi cooked the breakfast , Raavi sat on the kitchen slab talking to her something about fairies and princesses. This sight alone gave my heart a certain sort of piece. I am really very thankful to Mahi to never let Raavi feel the absence of a mother.

"Good Morning girls , what's cooking here?" I said cheerfully

Raavi's eyes sparkled on seeing me. She jumped from the kitchen slab to my arms and wrapped her arm and legs around me like a koala bear.

"Good Morning Dada"

"Good Morning Atharv " said Mahi

"Something smells delicious, what are you making?" I asked

"Your favorite masal dosa" said Mahi . Just hearing its name made my mouth water.

"Let me quickly freshen up and come " I said and quickly went to the washroom not before placing Raavi back on the kitchen slab.

I came back to the breakfast table to find the food already served and Raavi had already started eating it . I quickly sat on the chair to eat my favorite masala dosa when the door bell rang.

Argghh!! Who is it now !! I groaned internally

"You eat , I will open the door" said Mahi and went to open the main door

Just when I was about to take the first bite I heard someone shouting my name

"Athu baby" shouted Sid in a girly way to irritate me

Yes I have been in contact with Sid in all these 5 years. When he heard what had happened to me he was very angry and was going to go to her to give her a piece of mind but I stopped him as I did not want to create anymore problems.

He has stood beside me like a true friend in these 5 years, he even helped me establishing my business. He now handles his family business

"Shut up Sid" I cringed

"Why didn't you miss me" he said while pouting like a girl

"Eww don't make that face I feel like puking" I said in a disgusted tone

"But.." he was about to speak again but I showed him my fist threatening him.

"Ok dude chill no need to get violent " he said while he raised his arms in defeat.

I heard Mahi laughing in the background

"Siddu" squealed Raavi

"Raavi, I missed you a lot princess " said Sid and took her into his arms
