Chapter 18: Beginning of The End

Flame lit torches illuminate a dark and musty military prison. Eren had placed Armin, Mikasa, Connie, Jean, Niccolo, Erwin, and the family of the late Sasha Braus in a cell to keep them from interfering with his plans any further.

"So is there nothing we can do but sit here and wait for things to play out?" Connie asks

Artur, the father of Sasha, hands a cup of warm, herbal liquid to everyone and places the last one in front of Armin.

"Here, you like tea?" Artur asks

"Yeah, thank you" Armin replies to the kind gesture

"Hey, Armin" Connie begins "Do you think you can bust us out of here by turning into The Colossal titan?"

"I'm afraid not" Armin says "I'd blow up half the town if I did."

"It's funny...both Godzilla and Kong are significantly larger than The Colossal Titan but they're both more precise with their movements, especially Kong." Armin finishes

"So, how did Eren end up beating you to a pulp, Armin? It's time you told us." Jean asks

"He was hurting Mikasa with his words so I hit him, and he responded in kind." Armin replies

"Wait what do you mean he was hurting her? What did he say?" Jean asks, visibly angered by this information

"Well, he-" Armin begins

"Stop" Mikasa interrupts "It's fine"

"No, it isn't "fine"." Jean says "Seriously, tell me what he said to you!"

"May as well just let it go, Jean. We already knew he had turned into an absolute piece of shit, but now he's so far out of his mind that he went out of his way to hurt the two people he used to care about most."
Connie says

"Regardless, I don't see him doing that without having some kind of reason..." Jean says "I wonder...could he have a hidden motive?"

Just then, three people walk in front of the cell in which they stay and stand in front of it.

"I'm sorry our reunion had to take place between these bars." Yelena says to the group

"So tell me, Volunteers of Marley." Erwin speaks "Did you come to this place just so it could be fit for you to take over?"

"We helped move this island into the future, when we got here it was downright primitive." Onyankopon, A Marleyan volunteer says

"What did you say?" Connie asks

"But Erwin is right isn't he?" Niccolo asks "You wanted to see if this place was worth ruling."

"You were played for fools and defeated what else is there to be said?" Another volunteer says

"Says one on of Yelena's lackeys, Damn rat." Niccolo growls

"At least I didn't take the side of these devils." He says "You're the REAL rat here."

He leans in closer

"You fell for some filth blooded, potato grubbing devil just because she liked your cooking." He says, no doubt referring to Sasha.

Niccolo springs his arm through the bars to grab the volunteer but is unsuccessful.

"GET OVER HERE, I'LL KILL YOU!" Niccolo yells as he's held back by Jean
