jack woke up the next day next to taylor in her bed. he again admired her sleeping face. he was happy to be there with her in that moment.

he began planting kisses on her face and she smiled, her eyes still closed.

"hi." she muttered.

"hi." he said back. "how'd you sleep?"

"honestly," she opened her eyes. "the best i've slept in a while."

"really?" he raised his eyebrows.

"yeah." she nodded.

"i think it's because you were with me." jack smirked.

"no, i don't think so. it's because of this bed. it's much more comfortable than usual." she teased.

jack chuckled at her.

"i really missed you."  he whispered in her ear.

"me too." she whispered back.

"but last night was kinda mediocre." he joked.

"oh yeah? well i had to fake it." she shrugged.

jack's face got serious.

"tay, i was joking. did—did you actually have to fake it?" he asked.

"that's a secret i'll never tell." she smiled, deviously.

jack just stared at her.

"i'm joking. i didn't fake it. i've never faked it with you." she said.

he smiled. "i knew you were joking."

"oh yeah, i bet you did." taylor nodded, then giggled.

jack let out a small laugh before sighing

taylor looked at him then frowned.

"jack."

"hm?"

"what do we do now?"

"we could lay here for a while or we could go down and make breakfast or we could—."

"jack."

"what?"

"you know what i mean."

"what if we didn't do anything?" he raised his eyebrows.

"that's called avoidance." she replied.

"what if i like avoidance?" he responded.

"well what if i don't like avoidance?" she raised her eyebrows.

"well then that's too bad. you're out of luck, my friend." he retorted.

"oh. so, i'm just your friend now?" she questioned.

"maybe." he shrugged with a smirk.
