"Are you sure that you're, okay?"
Charlie had been hesitant to leave Celeste but with much reassurance from Billy, he decided that a couple of hours would be fine and if there was a problem Jacob would call either him or his father. But when he had gotten a message from Celeste asking to be picked up from the Cullen. He dropped everything and immediately drove straight to their house.
The sheriff couldn't help but be nervous when he saw the number of eyes looking directly at him. Not to mention most of the guys from the rez were there which made him a little confused as well. It seemed like he had walked right into the middle of an intense conversation but as soon as his eyes met a certain blonde man. His breath hitched and suddenly he felt like a teenage boy again with the biggest crush.
Charlie had no clue why the man had such a big effect on him, with the way his relationship ended with Renee he had swore off getting involved with anyone and focus on getting his daughters back, which at first he was thankfully to have at least one of his daughter back in his life. But soon his thankfulness turned to regret as he saw Bella with her fake mask off.
Now with Celeste back, she was his priority, and making sure she was happy. But he still couldn't stop himself from thinking about that blonde hair man back at the Cullen's house.
"I'm okay dad, just confused."
Celeste didn't like the sharp pains she was feeling in her heart, she tried to rub the place with her hands but it didn't do anything. Sighing she takes off the brace that was helping her ribs heal and curls herself into her father's side as they sit on the couch watching the tv. Charlie wraps his arm around his daughter's shoulder and kisses her forehead.
"Confused? about what?"
Charlie wasn't the best with feelings and normally tries to hide his emotions, but he still wanted Celeste to know that if she had any issues or problems she could still come to him and he would try as much he could to help her.
Celeste sighs "It's hard to explain, I met Jake's friends, and they were really nice."
The young swan didn't know how to word the way she was feeling about missing not only Jake but the rest of his friends and of course, she wanted to see their wolves again. It just didn't make sense to her why she was feeling this way about people she had only just met.
"I aussmed so when I saw them at the Cullen's house" Charlie softly says before adding "Do you know who the others were?"
Celeste looks up at her father "The three men with red eyes?" she hesitantly questions.
"Yeah? I haven't seen them before and was curious as to who they were." Charlie shrugs his shoulders.
On the inside, his whole body was urging him to find out everything about the blonde man, from who he was to more intense questions like if he was single or taken. Even just thinking about him being in a relationship made Charlie physically sick.
"I'm not sure, just some close family friends I guess."
"Oh" Charlie didn't expect to be as disappointed as he was when Celeste couldn't tell him anything about the man.
"I think Jake's mad at me," Celeste confesses.
To the young Swan that was the only logic for her heart to be hurting, it was the guilt of being rude to Jake and his friends and she practically walked away from them when they told her she couldn't tell Charlie. She knew it was ridiculous but at that moment all she could think about was if Charlie had found she had to lie to him. He would abandon her or worse become anything like Renee, Phill, or Bella.
Charlie snorts "Jacob could never be mad at you sweetheart."
Celeste shakes her head "No I really think he is."
"Believe me Cel, Jacob couldn't even pretend to be mad at you if he tried."
Charlie was certain that once Celeste had settled in and her injuries were fully healed, Jake would ask her out on a date. But now that Celeste had mentioned the others from the Rez he would need to have a word with them all before anything happened.
"I hope not." Celeste frowns when she hears a knock at the front door. "I'll get it."
Hoping it was Jake she quickly opens the front door, and her frown deepens when she sees that it's not Jake but the three men from Carlisle's house standing out her house.
"I didn't tell him anything if that's what you came here to check," Celeste mumbles looking down at her fingers.
Celeste was startled when she felt two fingers under her chin to lift her head, looking at the men she turns confused as they were all looking at her with smiles.
"We did not come here for that dear," Aro states. "Let me introduce ourselves, I am Aro, these are my brothers Marcus and Caius."
"Hi" Celeste waves towards them "If you're not here for that then why are you guys here?"
"We actually came to speak to your father if that was alright?" Caius carefully asks,
If things did work out with him and Charlie, Celeste would be his daughter and he did not want her to be afraid of him or his brothers.
"Dad? Why my dad?" Celeste started to become worried when they mention her father.
"Do not panic child" Marcus gives her a reassuring smile "We have discussed this between the shifters and the Cullen and decided to tell Charlie the truth."
"The truth? why the sudden change?"
Caius slowly grabs Celeste's hand "Not that we wouldn't mind telling you the truth, Jace? Is that is name the shifter wanted to tell you the reason himself."
Celeste furrows her eyebrows "Do you mean Jake?"
"Yes, that's the one, I was close." Caius mumbles.
"So he isn't mad at me?"
"Of course not." Aro shakes his head "He told us that when you were feeling up to it, they would all be at Sam's house on the rez, and you are always welcome there."
"Celeste?"
Charlie had gotten worried at how long she had been at the front door for and decided to make sure everything was alright.
"Yeah, Dad?"
"Who's at the..." Charlie's words get stuck in his throat as he notices the men from Cullen's house but more specifically the blonde man.
"Hello, Mr Swan My name is Aro and these two are my brothers. We are friends of Carlisle's and wanted to make sure you both had gotten home safety."
Charlie clears his throat "Hi, yes hi I'm Charlie and well thank you for passing by." His eyes were focusing on the man to the right of Aro.
"Of course, while this might seem very forward, but do you might if we could come in and talk?"
"Uh sure." Charlie shyly looks away from the man who seems to make his heart jump in excitement.
"Oh I do apologise" Aro deeply sighs "This is Marcus and Caius my brothers."
"Caius" Charlie couldn't help but mutter out, the blonde king was fighting the urge to pull his mate into is arms and hold him.
As they all sit down in the living room, Celeste nibbles on her bottom lip and whispers in her father's ear. "Please don't hate me after this, I only just found this out today."
"What?" Charlie snaps out of his daze and looks towards his daughter whose eyes were already filled with tears.
