CRISTINA layed in her bed, still tired from the night she previously had with all of her friends. The day after the 4th was always a day that her and Jessica stayed in bed and watched movies. Well it usually was, Jessica had other plans, as she was nowhere to be seen. Luke had begged to spend the night with the girl, Cristina kicking him out since she just wanted to sleep in her own bed alone.
Her and Luke being back felt sort of weird to her, but it felt right at the same time. Cristina knew it was the right thing, she just had to get used to being with him again after barely speaking for a year. Luke was insanely happy. He knew it was his fault that they hadn't spoke in that year, so he wanted to make it up to her. He knocked on her door, hearing a quiet ' come in'.
" It's literally 12:30, how are you still in bed?",
She scoffed, " I am tired. Plus, I'm waiting for Jessie to come back",
Luke shook his head, " She's at ours. In Luca's room",
Cristina looked at him, her eyes wide. " Well nevermind then, good for her",
The short girl got out of her messy bed, wandering to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Luke followed, sitting on the edge of the bathtub behind her. " Yeah, they must be asleep. I haven't heard anything", he said, " Not since last night".
" Ugh, ew. That's gross, Luke!", Cristina said laughing. Luke laughed as well, shrugging at her. " I didn't need to know that you heard that. But I'm sorry for you, that's awkward",
He shrugged, " She would've had to deal with the same thing last year",
" Luke! Stop!", Cristina said, her face going red. The taller boy decided not to tease her, instead going downstairs to find himself something in her kitchen to eat.
" Luke?", Samantha said, walking in to the kitchen as he searched through the fridge. He nodded at her, " This is our house, are you confused?",
" What? No, I'm just getting something to eat while Crissy gets ready",
Samantha's eyes widened, " So you guys are back?",
He dramatically gasped, " So back, Sammy", immediately turning his face up at himself, " Ew, thats the cringiest thing I've said. I'm sorry",
She laughed, shrugging before leaving to go out with one of her friends down the road. The Ivy parents came inside, clearly just finishing a walk. " Luke, nice to see you", Cristina's dad said, sending him a quick smile.
" You too",
Cristina came downstairs, jean shorts and a tank top covering her body. " Mom, did you get any watermelon",
" Does it look like I've been out?", her mom joked, " Hey Luke, how are you?",
" Good, you?", Luke smiled, eating a handful of almonds he found in the pantry. Cristina smiled at them all interacting, like nothing had changed in the last year. She quickly threw her hair into a loose braid, dragging the boy out of the house. " Where are we going?",
" Walking to the smoothie place down the road, I have no food",
