Stiles and I were sitting in Scott's room while he was frantically searching for his phone
"Call it again" he instructed Stiles while rummaging through his bedside table
"It's not here" Stiles replied sounding frustrated, Scott moved to the other side of the room searching under his bed "so you lost your phone, why don't you just get a new one?"
"I can't afford a new one" he explained "and I can't do this alone. We have to find Derek"
"Well A, you're not alone. You have Juliette and I and B, didn't you say Derek walked into gunfire?" Scott told us about the argents shooting up the burnt down Hale house "he sounds pretty dead"
"Don't say that" I interrupted but they just ignored me
"Argent's plan was to use him to get the Alpha. They're not gonna kill him" Scott explained
"All right, so then just let them do what they're planning, you know? They use Derek to get Peter, problem solved"
"Not if Peter's going after Allison to find Derek!" Scott was only becoming more angry "I can't protect her on my own. Which means we need to find Derek first" he continued to frantically look through his table draws "Just, Just help me!" that caused me to get up and help him search
"You know, you probably lost it when you two were fighting" I suggested
"Yeah, remember that, when he was trying to kill you?" Stiles Spoke up "after you interrupted him trying to kill Jackson, are you starting to see the pattern of violent behavior here?"
"He wasn't going to kill anyone" Scott replied, which made me feel better. I'm not sure why "and I'm not letting him die"
"Could you at least think about letting him die?" Stiles asked "for me?"
"Stiles!" before I could rip into him Scott suddenly stopped and turned his head "what?"
"Mom just got home from work"
"Okay?" Why was that strange?
"Is she okay?" Stiles asked causing Scott to shake his head in response
"What's she doing?" I asked concerned
"Crying" my heart instantly broke for her
"Scott, you can't protect everyone" Stiles said
"I have to"

The next morning I was sitting in English trying to figure out a way to approach Matt and ask him about the winter formal. I don't think I could handle the embarrassment if he rejected me in front of the whole class so I decided to pass him a note and he can let me know
Once the bell rang I walked to my locker to get the right books for my next class
"Hey" as I looked up it was Matt "I uh, got your note"
"Hi" I instantly regretted passing him a note" so, um are you going?"
"Oh um, yeah. I'm actually going to take photos for the yearbook"
"Oh wow, cool" getting a little awkward
"I'd uh, actually love to have an assistant" he smiled up at me. He's pretty cute
"I'm pretty useless with a camera" I have no skills when it comes to boys
"I'll teach you" barf "so, do you wanna come with me?"
"Yes I'd love to"
"Great, I'll pick you up"
"Great"
