The Beach

Standing Alone,

Looking out over the sea,

Watching my troubles wash away with the tide,

Watching them wash away from me.

Standing Alone,

Feeling the sand beneath my toes,

Feeling the sun on my skin,

I close my eyes,

And breath it all in.

Standing alone,

Hearing the waves crash over the rocks,

Spraying me with water,

The taste of salt,

On my lips.

Standing there,

Waiting,

Hearing footsteps in the sand,

Then feeling your arms around me,

I open my eyes.

We stand and watch the sun,

As it finally goes down,

You move and stand beside me,

And I take your hand.

We turn to leave,

As the sun disappears behind us,

As the stars start to appear,

One by one,

Transforming the same scene,

Into a new picture,

A new beginning.
