Trapped in this School
No matter what happens now,
No matter what they say,
Things will always change,
And soon so will we.
Counting down the years,
The months and the days,
Until we're free of these walls,
And the things that they say.
Sitting at our desks,
The clock laughing in our faces,
Sitting at our desks,
Their words filling empty spaces.
We'll make it one day,
But not on our own,
We'll need their help,
And we'll need to remember,
What they told us,
Good and bad,
We'll need to remember
The times we had.
Sitting in class,
Trying to block it out,
Sitting in class,
Waiting to get out.
We'll have to search,
Through the distractions,
Of up-coming parties,
And talking to boys.
It seemed important then,
But now seems so small,
It seemed important then,
Until reality comes to call.
