I was chubby, red,
And smiling to my ears,
With shorts and a shirt,
Fresh into my thirteenth year.He was tall, dark, and handsome,
And wise beyond his years,
A performer of the Arts,
Amazing all those who come to see.I was there at his show,
There with a meet and greet ticket,
And as I watched his performance,
I held my breath and waited,
To finally meet him face to face,
To not be another anon in the crowd. The time came and then they called me,
Well, us,
Since I wasn't the only one,
Who wanted to admire this amazing actor,
As angels in my head sung.I was the first to meet him,
And we took a few pictures together,
A few with my hand around his back,
And a grin ever present.Then the unexpected happened;
He leaned in for a kiss!
And I had to wonder, why me?
What's with this pudgy girl,
Fresh into her teens?
As I stood there with him,
Frankly,
I was on my way to Zion,
Because this was my first kiss,
With a sea lion.bookworminalibrary 's a/n:
(This adorable sea lion really was my first kiss. xD)Hey there, I'm bookworminalibrary. :) I'm also known as Bookie, Bookworm, or Khael, and I've a thing for poetry; its expressive, emotional, and subtle charm just draws me in each time I reach for a pen and a paper.
I don't usually write sappy, emotional stuff, but sometimes I do, and an example of that 'sometimes' is this poetic book of mine, Falling, which is recognized by the Cellphone Novel Movement (CPN). :)
Anyway, happy Singles Awareness Day (S.A.D.) everybody!
(Yes, I'm quite cynical toward the day. I don't need lovey love and sappy couples, AT LEAST MY LAPTOP LOVES ME.)
