Description:

Zheng Mimi was just another brilliant chef who loved sneak-reading web novels while working.

Her latest novel was about a cold-hearted lord falling in love with an ordinary woman, despite his fiancée, princess Yu Zhenzhen.

Being in love with the lord for so long, the princess commits all types of crimes to get rid of the female lead.

But her behavior only leads her to be killed by the lord in front of many.

One day after tasting a rotten egg by accident, Zheng Mimi finds her soul in a different body.

Not just any body, but the body of princess Yu Zhenzhen!

After getting over her shock, she plans on staying away from the people that caused her death yet still look for a way to go back to her world.

Unfortunately, she still attracts their attention, but in a completely different way than the previous Yu Zhenzhen.

A quick, light, and hilarious read that was written by a bushii who was inspired by Doomed to be Cannon Fodder. If you're not really into the whole Chinese setting novels, I think you can still enjoy this one.

Although you can find many concepts that are similar to DCF, the author was creative and made up many of her own with and isn't like one of those copy and paste rip-offs at all. In fact, there are even a couple of plot twists that I wasn't expecting. I'm glad the author went with her own thing and wrote an entirely different and exciting story instead of just trying to rewrite DCF with different names and characters.

Now, about the story itself, I think it might be even more humorous for us English readers because we could actually understand the jokes and some of the slangs. There are still some Chinese sayings and idioms, too, but it's a bit of a blend of both, and I think it works well since the MC is from modern-day China, and it can't be expected that she would fit with the ancient customs right away—though her slangs are actually English ones, I think we can let it slide since the book is meant to be a comedy, and it's written for an English audience.

Another thing I forgot to mention is the chapter titles. They are hilarious and wacky on their own and made me curious about each chapter every time I was about to start it. My expectations were not disappointed.

It seems that the novel might be heading towards a reverse harem route, but I'm not a 100% certain, and it could just as easily be one guy, too. If you're one who doesn't like harems or maybe getting second lead syndrome, I don't think you have to worry too much because it's a mostly fluffy story that's meant for laughs. But be warned; there may be more than one male that you might like.

I enjoyed this book and breezed through the chapters until I was all caught up. If you're into the light, fluffy and humorous kind of novels, you'll definitely enjoy this, too, especially if you already tried DFC and liked it.
