Walking up the familiar steps, I opened the doors and welcomed myself into the hallway that took me back. I looked around at a few students standing at their lockers, knowing it was their lunch break and half of them were in the cafeteria.

I walked down the hall with the bag of food in my hands, taking in the familiar smell as I was coming to Tory's classroom door.

I saw Mrs. Mary walking down the hall and we made eye contact. I couldn't help but smile as she smiles then approaches me. "Carter, what are you doing here?"

I held the bag up. "Bringing my girlfriend food."

Mrs. Mary knows about Tory and I. When I first told her, she was a little caught off guard but there really wasn't anything wrong with it now.

I'm no longer a student here.

"That's sweet." She smiles. "I won't hold you any longer. Come by to see me before you leave."

I nod as I watch her walk down the hall then I walked towards Tory's classroom before peeking inside the window.

Seeing her sit at her desk, I couldn't help but smile as I slightly knocked. Her head shot towards the door then I opened it and stepped inside.

"Hey baby." I smile as I held out the bag of food to her as I stopped at her desk.

She smiles before grabbing it then looking inside. "Aw babe, thank you." She reaches in the bag to take out the containers that were in it.

I brought her leftovers from last night. There was so much food that I didn't want it to go to waste, so I decided to put some in a container and bring it to her.

Plus, she texted me and told me to bring her food.

I watched as she opened the container then smiled as she grabbed the fork I placed in the bag and started eating. I sat on the desk and watched her for a moment until I looked around and smiled.

She was still in the same classroom, which definitely brought back memories. All those times I stayed in here after class and everything else in between.

It's crazy how time flies.

"What are you doing today?" Tory asks as she wipes her mouth and looks at me.

Shrugging, I really didn't know. I was off today and there wasn't much to do. I could always find something to do but this town is boring as shit.

"Not sure. I was sitting at the house bored out of my mind before you texted me."

She smiles before taking another bite of food. I watch her for a moment as I smiled then looked down at my phone as I felt it vibrate.

Hey, we're coming down this weekend.

I smiled as it was Ayden that texted me. I sent him a text back before looking over at Tory as she had finished her bowl. "Damn, you were hungry."

She shrugs as she places the container back in the bag before handing it to me. She sucks her thumb before looking at me. "That was great, baby. Thank you."

Smiling, I fold the bag up before looking around the classroom again. "So, how are the students?" I look over at Tory.

"They're actually pretty great."

Nodding, I thought back to those boys that were messing with Chase last week. "Do you teach a group of boys who are transfers?"

She looked at me for a moment. "I don't know.. why?"

"Just wondering." I shrug as I look around again before looking back at her. "Do you get to change the subject you teach?"

"No." She spoke. "We have to continue teaching the subject that we start teaching from. Although some teachers teach multiple subjects."
