At the end of the day, I went to the library and sat down at one of the tables. I waited for Jayden for about 30 minutes.

I was about to get up and leave but saw him walked in.

"Hey, you're late." I said.

"You didn't tell me what time so I took my time."

Right...

"So, what we learnin'?" He asked.

"First of all, you're the one learning."

"Yeah, whatever. I don't care. Spill."

"Okay. Math?" I asked.

He shrugged nonchalantly and sat down.

"I don't care." He says, putting his feet on the table and leaning back comfortably in his chair.

I sat back down and crossed my legs.

"I guess I'm teaching you Math." I said.

It's been 10 minutes of tutoring him.

"What is x?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "I don't know."

I closed the book and said, "Jayden, you have to listen."

He leaned in closer to me. "Why do I have to learn about exes anyways?" He raised an eyebrow.

I backed away from him. "It's not exes, it's just x."

He took out his phone and started texting.

"Jay, it's only been 10 minutes and you're already on your phone?" I said.

"Yeah, oh shit. I gotta go."

He got up and left before I could even say anything.

I went outside and called Brett to pick me up.

He came and I got inside the car.

"How was uh.. tutoring.. him today?" Brett asked. "That was quick."

"He didn't listen." I answered.

"Of course."

We got home and I went straight up to my room. I didn't really feel like listening to insults.

After being in my room for about an hour, I was actually getting really hungry. I just remembered that I had just an apple today for lunch.

I went downstairs and opener the fridge.

But then the doorbell rang.

I opened it.

It was a girl who look like she was the same age as me. She had blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Hello." She says.

"Uh hey." I said.

"Is this the foster home?" She asked.

I nodded my head. "Yeah."

"Oh."

She came in with her bag and luggage.

"You are..?" I asked.

She put her bag down and took out her hand.

"Oh, I'm Angelica. I'm new here." She told me.

I shook her hand. "I'm Mallory."

We released hands and she looked around the house. "Wow, this foster home is huge. The one I was in was a bit smaller than this."

"Yeah. Who's your foster parents?" I asked.

She took out a piece of paper from her bag and handed it to me.
