Spring peeked through the window one morning like a welcome playmate. The sun finally warmed up the ground, letting the pretty greens and yellows peep through. The birds came back to sing their songs.
Sunny's school notebooks began to fill up once more, so I made sure to doodle happy notes and pictures in the margins when she wasn't paying attention.
Sunny began to sprout a little taller and her soft hair started inching past her shoulders. She was a sunflower in the spring, growing and blooming.
New friends often came to play, but I was shy and usually just sat in the corner until they left.
New people were hard to talk to, but it was harder when Sunny was invited to go away for the day. That's when I truly felt alone.
But she always came back.
No matter how worried I became.
I just couldn't help but wonder... what would happen to me if she didn't come home?
