Italy, beautiful as ever. Mel smelled like it, the sun, the heat. Pierre not as much, having just showered after an intense qualifying set, only ending up in Q1. Despite his disappointment, the brunette could easily tell the difference between his dismay and his strange annoyance about something else entirely. She'd been wanting to ask about it all day, but hadn't yet.
There was something different about him, undeniably different, when the couple returned to their hotel room. They were finally alone for the first time again, the closed door shutting them out from the rest of the world. Melena could feel the tension now. She wouldn't exactly label it as a positive one, because Pierre hastily threw his stuff on the bed, something he knew she hated, and ignored her completely when he got himself something to drink, which was something he'd never do.
