While many killers had their realms, in which a few preferred to stay constantly, there was a counterpart to the survivor's campfires... known as the Mineshaft. It was a maze of wooden supports and stone walls, with a central furnace fire pit. Unlike the survivor's calming orange/yellow glow, the furnace was a deep angry flame. It stoked their emotions, as well as reminding them why they were there. It didn't recover memories of those who lost them, but it did cement who they were at their core.

The mineshaft connected between most realms, sealed off when trials began. The entrances were in the places survivors hated to go: the basement. After trials, the furthest wall opened up, leading to this secret location. Each killer had their own values and personality, often meeting up and clashing when they stayed within close proximity... but the one enforced rule was that the mineshaft was the only place violence couldn't be used to settle disputes.

When Sadako entered this enclave, everyone turned to her. Kazan Yamaoka, a massive giant of a samurai, asked the Onryo in her native Japanese. "Another 4 for your talley?"

Sadako shook her head, and Rin, Kazan's descendant, gasped

Sadako shook her head, and Rin, Kazan's descendant, gasped. In modern Japanese, she quickly responded, "You've never had anyone escape... what happened?"

The Onryo was succinct. "New survivor. New perks. Escaped by hatch."
"Ah." She nodded. "That makes sense." Normally, survivors who escaped via the hatch were considered dead as well, as it was pure luck. If the accused Vigo hadn't created it... they would have all perished in a match if it got to that point. But, the Entity didn't complain, and so they had no room to either. Sadako was going to go to her private area, her well. She had arrived here in it, with no explanation. As far as anyone was concerned... it was her realm.

As she walked over to it, Suzie whispered something to Jules. She was one of the few killers that was multilingual, knowing Japanese as well as French and English. It was then that Jules stood up and got in her way. "So... a little birdie tells me you lost the new survivor in your trial..." She smiled sadistically. Frank, the leader of their group, had stood up. He merely observed, as Joey stood next to Frank. Suzie stood next to Jules. They had made a semi-circle around her, blocking the path to the well she wanted to go back to.
