I go downstairs after getting ready for work.

"Hey mom." I say.

"Morning." I go over to the fruit basket and grab an apple. I don't have time to make something.

"Just a reminder that we have dinner with your cousins tonight at 6." My mom says.

"At their house?" I ask.

"Yes, now go! You're going to be late for work!" My mom says. I run out the door and quickly get into my mom's truck. I don't have my own car so I just borrow my moms whenever I can. I don't like driving that much anyways.

"Hey Kristen." I say to her from the front desk.

"Morning." I then go into the kitchen to see Chris, already there.

"Why do you always manage to get here before me?" I ask, annoyed.

"Because I am just better." He states. I roll my eyes in response.

"You keep telling yourself that." I say with a chuckle.

"Ooo first customer, I got it!" I declare, running to the front desk.

"Hi, what can I get you today?" I ask the guy at the register. He looks at me with a smile as he proceeds to stare at me intensely.

"I'll take a lemonade and the cute worker right in front of me." He says. I internally cringe at that pick up line. I laugh in response, feeling a bit awkward.

"I'm flattered, but I have a boyfriend." I say.

"Ugh what a lucky guy."

"Here you go." I say, handing him his drink.

"Thank you. I'll see you around." He says before turning away. I can feel eyes from the back of my head. Chris is looking at me, weirdly.

"What?" I ask.

"Did that guy just try to hit on you?" He asks.

"I don't even know." I suddenly hear laughter from outside. I look to see Tyler and a group of his friends sitting at the nearby table. Great, how great.

"Can you deliver this to table D8?" The chef asks, before turning back to what he was doing. I know d8 is outside. I am just not sure what exact table. I grab the cup of chocolate milkshake, fries, and a burger and walk around, looking for the table to deliver it to. When I see the table that reads the number D8, I internally groan. Of course. Just my luck. I slowly start walking over to Tyler's table, determined to just deliver the food quickly and walk away. Once I get close enough, all their eyes go on me. One of the girls is giving me an extreme glare. I have the plate in hand and am about to place it on the table, when the girl sticks her foot out and I trip over it, falling hard to the ground. I am now covered in chocolate milkshake. The table breaks out into laughter.

"Looks like throw up girl can't seem to watch where she's going. How clumsy." The girl says, looking down at me. Everyone at the table laughs. Tyler stays silent with an unreadable expression on his face. I can't help the tears that well in my eyes. I feel so embarrassed. Once again.

"What the hell Tina." I hear Tyler say.

"What! I was only having fun!" She says, laughing. I make eye contact with Tyler and it almost looks as though there is a sign of sympathy in his eyes. But it goes away the second it comes.

"Lana!" I hear Chris say. He walks over to where I am on the ground and helps me to pick up the scattered food.

"I'm so sorry." Chris whispers to me. He then proceeds to help me up from the ground and we walk back inside. I can tell he feels bad. Once I get inside of the kitchen, the tears start falling.
