"Did you know na nirereto ka ni Mommy sa mga anak ng mga amiga niya?" Tumawa ulit si Kuya. "Kaya kung ako sa iyo, maghanap ka na ng boyfriend bago ka pa niya iset-up sa mga blind date."
"Uy, nag-work naman sa inyo ni Ate May yun ah."
"Iba iyon. I knew her back in college. Hindi lang kami close pero nagandahan na ako sa kanya noon."
"Yiiieee. Whipped." Panunukso ko. "Actually-"
Napatigil ako when I saw Asher's name on the screen and his message saying 'here'.
I opened his message and I saw the photo he shared.
"What the fuck?" Napatingin si Kuya sa screen ko at mabilis ko iyong hinawi at tinago. "What the fuck?"
"Uy, yung bunganga mo."
Bunganga ko na naman.
"You know what? Actually.."
"Actually ano?"
"I have a boy friend. And he just arrived sa airport. Can we fetch him, Kuya?" I asked and tumango naman siya habang nakangiti.
I quickly typed a reply to Asher.
Me
Don't move. We're on our way there.
Asher
What? Why?

May pa welcome number kami sa iyo.
Asher
What? There are Masskara dancers and beaters outside. This is so fun.

I know. Chill ka lang diyan. Don't talk to strangers.

Coffee ka muna. Galing kami sa planta kaya may 30mins na drive pa.

I can see him from the distance. Naka light blue collared shirt siya with the first three buttons open, tapos naka dark blue shorts and white tennis shoes. Naka shades ito at nakahawak sa itim na handcarry suitcase. You know it's him kasi may ibang aura talaga si Asher, especially with his height.
"Is that him?" Tanong ni Kuya while slowing down para makapagpark sandali sa gilid ng arrivals.
"Yep." I opened my window and called him. "Asher!"
He looked up, removed his shades and I saw his eyes beamed kahit na matipid siyang ngumiti sa akin.
I got off the car and Kuya turned on the hazard sign. Bumaba din si Kuya para tulongan si Asher sa bag niya.
"Kuya, Asher. Asher, si Kuya Eric."
They shook hands and I saw how Kuya glared at Asher kahit nakangiti ito.
"No, I can manage." Sabi ni Asher habang kinukuha ni Kuya ang bag. Hindi ito binitiwan ni Asher kaya bumalik nalang si Kuya sa sasakyan at sumunod na kaming dalawa. I sat at the shotgun seat while Asher sat sa backseat.
"Did you book a hotel?" Tanong ni Kuya kay Asher.
"Yes.. po." May pahabol na po? "I booked a room at Seda. Is it far?"
"Hmm, hindi naman. Mamaya ka na magcheck-in. Maglunch ka nalang muna sa bahay." Sabi ko sa kanya.
Nilingon ako ni Kuya. "I-text mo na si Mommy."
