Aramis Eleazar was an entity as old as time, as wise as the universe, and as loyal as loyal could be. It was his every strength, and every weakness, to know and to have always known the way things were going to be. Perhaps, sometimes, it was a curse, but for the most part it was manageable.

So many of his siblings had fulfilled their duty so early into their being, isolating Aramis without meaning to. He had seen it coming, of course. His life was always supposed to follow this path, and be the last of his kind left roaming. He was destined for the Pevensie's, even if it had been a few billion years.

Perhaps that was why it was so satisfying to see their Narnian journey blossom so. And now that the coronation was upon them, Aramis could not have been prouder.

Cair Paravel had been untouched for years, but finally it would have a new lease of life. Every room was cleaned from top to bottom, and laced with everything the new Kings and Queens would need. It was now their home, and they needed to be comfortable there. It was only right.

Aramis would have been embarrassed to admit his part in the decorating, only because he didn't want the credit. He knew what they would have liked, and yet, refused to be responsible for it. All of this was about them now, not Narnia, and certainly not him. Just and only them.

The day before the coronation, they were moved in, and delighted by their living quarters. There was no one like them, not anywhere, and it was a pleasure to know them. A personal pleasure for Aramis, as he knew of the trials they had faced to meet this point. They had shown little fear in the face of danger, but now, facing a small ceremony, there seemed to be much unrest.

The great hall was packed with Narnian's who wished to pay their respects to the Kings and Queens, but of course, the numbers were limited. Not everyone was allowed to be there. It was a sight for sore eyes, to be certain.

Because of their ceremonial dressings, it took more than one person to tie all of the pieces together. The girls had decided on one another's company, and Tumnus was to be assisting Peter. Edmund needed the help of Aramis, who of course, was happy to oblige.

The dark green suited his pale complexion, with silver trimmings to compliment the crown he would receive. Aramis, as always, was in white. When he was stood behind Edmund, tightening the undershirt he wore, the young boy decided that it was time he say something.

"Aramis?" He asked, tentatively, earning the devoted attention of the star.

  "My King?"

"Thank you... for what you did... saving me, I mean." He fumbled through what he meant to say. "I just... I didn't get to say it before now."

Aramis bowed his head, shaking it. "I am bound to you and your siblings for life. Saving you was apart of my duty. It is an honour, you should understand."

"But I'm only alive because of you..."

"You're alive because you are supposed to be." Said the elder, finishing off the undershirt. "And that is all."

After that, Aramis left Edmund, allowing him to finish dressing. He didn't need much time as the others were nearing the end of their clothing tribulations too. Within ten minutes, the Pevensie's were ready, and Narnia was too.

Aramis had been told to approach his mark, which was by Tumnus, the faun, and so he did. He did not get a chance to see the Pevensie's together before being crowned, in every last moment of their mere mortal glory. Although, it wasn't as if they were going to really change.

Only now, with their new royalty and status, their story could never be lost. Aramis would never let it get so far. Even if their bodies didn't last so long, their names would live forever. They would be legends in their own right.
