"you knew about this, draco?" ginny shrieked

"she told me not to tell anyone. i'm respecting that." draco says, rolling his eyes.

"do you know where she's going?" ginny asked.

draco shook his head. "she wouldn't tell me that."

"i bet she's going to see cedric." ginny says.

"cedric? as in cedric diggory?" draco asked.

"yes, don't get too jealous, draco." ginny commented.

draco stiffened. "im not jealous."

blaise raised an eyebrow. "say that to my face."

"i'm just curious why she would go see cedric," draco argued.

"they've always been close friends, even before Hogwarts." ginny explains.

"ah," draco says.

hermione walked into the apartment and stopped short. "you guys look like you just murdered someone."

"because we did," blaise jokes.

"i'm not surprised." hermione says, sitting next to draco on the couch.

"care to tell us what's wrong?" ginny asked.

hermione shook her head. "i'm not ready."

"hermione—" ginny started, but draco cut her off.

"she said she wasn't ready. don't push her."

ginny looked at him, slightly shocked, but closed her mouth.

"i'm going to go pack," hermione said. "draco, want to help?"

draco nodded and followed her into her room.

hermione closed the door and leaned against it. "why do i feel this way?"

draco wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly. "i don't know, hermione. but i can promise that it won't last forever."

hermione wrapped her arms around draco's waist, and rested her head against his chest, closing her eyes. a feeling of peace washed over her.

"promise you'll call me every night?" draco asked.

hermione nodded against his chest. "promise."
