letting go

In a realm where trust can be deceived,

You hold a belief that's not naïve.

You see the good side that people should embrace,

But when they fail to reciprocate, it's time to retrace.

If indifference replaces care's gentle touch,

And love's signs are absent, an ache becomes much.

Though it hurts deeply, take a leap, be fast,

Leave him behind, let the past become the past.

Initial pain may consume your heart,

But trust my words, a brighter day will start.

For if it didn't work, it's not your blame to bear,

Release the burden, free yourself from despair.

This is my perspective, my way to perceive,

The world itself, with its tangled webs we weave.

You're not a fool, for you hold truth within,

Believing in goodness, where true love can begin.
