you and max had recently broken up but she given you a necklace when you we're together and you hadnt taken it off

it was mid week, wednesday. you were supposed to be in school but since your mom worked early in the morning she was never there to see you leave so youve beem late recently, due to max breaking up with you. you hadnt been feeling the best since, it effected you badly. it was around the end of 3rd period when you decided to go to school. once you arrived, max was at her locker and you immediately saw her. she didnt bother looking at you but you looked at her, barely. you couldnt bare seeing her fine without you but you had to, you know you were never getting back together. you went to period 4, it was maths and max was in it. she was sat infront of you so you couldnt ignore her whatsoever.
"yn, whats the answer to number 8? i didnt get it sorry." a girl from beside you asks
"oh uhm, 1732" you answered with a slight smile
"thanks" she said smiling back
you went back to your work but you could feel maxs eyes on you for some reason, you look up and lock eyes with her for half a second and she immediately turns her head around. at the end of the lesson, you accidentally bumped into maxs shoulder
"sorry." you mumbled to her
"mhm." she gave back, then leaving the class
you grab your bag and walk out of the class going to your locker to shove your book in there, omce you do you head to your friends. you were friends with cheerleaders and the basketball team because of lucas.
"hey yn!" ruby shouted
"hey rubes, wheres everyone else?" you ask
"there just getting food but im not hungry so im here" ruby shrugged
"okay, cmon lets go find everyone" you grabbed rubys hand practically dragging her to the others
"yn! ruby!!" jason shouted
"hey jase" you said baxk, fist bumping him
"you asked ruby out yet?" he whispered into your ear
"no jason, i uh- i dont like her like that." you said awkwardly
"mhm sure you dont" he winked and went to the table were everyone was sat

you were walking to 5th period, walking past max. she looked at you, shockingly and then smiled. then you felt an arm grab you
"yn" max said
"max..?" you questioned
"your still wearing the necklace.." max pointed out, grabbing hers from her pocket and connecting them
"yeah.. i guess i am." you smiled properly, for the first time since.
"how come?" she asked
"i uh.. i cant take it off." you admit, awkwardly "sorry."
"no.. no. its okay because i uh.. i cant leave the house without it." she admitted, you stayed silent. "i still love you, yn."
"i do too max." you said looking at the floor, trying to keep your eyes from hers
"can we talk?" she asked
"yeah, of course." you said, grinning, you both walk out of school.
"can i come to your house, so we can talk properly?" max asked you
"yeah, thats fine." you nodded
you both walked to your house and your mom was never there and your dad had left when you were little so it was just you and max. you both went into your room and max set her bag down on the floor and then sat on your bed, you did the same.
"okay, i just want to say. the reason i broke up with you is because i got jealous over yours and rubys friendship and i guess i just- i just wanted you to myself. but ive accepted you two are friends" max said, inhaling. you stayed silent, not knowing what to say "im sorry yn i dont even know what im doing here. you deserve better."
max got up and grabbed her bag but before she could leave you grabbed her hand and turned her around, grabbed her chin and pulled her into a kiss
"youre the better, max." you said, smiling
"your an idiot sometiems yn yln" max took her bag of and hugged you
