I'm actually on a date, a real date with a real guy, not just in my deams.
"This would make a perfect backdrop for a picture", I said.
"Go stand over there then."
"You'll take my picture?"
"Yes."
I started fussing with my hair and dress trying to look decent.
"Hurry up, you'll lose the lighting."
I scrambled over to my spot. Isamu motioned where it was best for me to stand. He took a few pictures and then stopped.
"What happened, not turning out good?"
"You're not smiling in any of these."
"Yes I am, see."
"No, a genuine smile."
"I don't like being all cheesy."
He moved his phone up, covering his face.
"I do."
And snapped a photo of me looking completely caught off guard by what he just said.
My face felt hot. He started coming over, to show me the pictures I bet. I felt too shy to look at him. When he was standing in front of me, I saw him slip his phone into his pocket.
"Are we going to see some more", he asked.
"Yes", I said quietly.
With my hand in his, he led us to a gorgeous quiet spot. There was a place for us to sit.
"Should have brought some food", he said.
"That's okay, I'm not hungry right now. We can pick something up later."
I took out my phone and moved close to him.
"We didn't take a picture yet."
"I'm not into pictures."
"I know but you took some with me at the festival. Just one, please", I begged.
"Fine."
I smile brightly just how he likes. He wasn't smiley but more like a stoic model with those smizing eyes. Still hot to me.
"So, can I ask you something", I said.
"Sure."
"Why a date?"
"Why not?"
"Come on, that's not an answer."
"I don't know. It's something different, something new."
"Oh, okay."
"What?"
"Nothing."
"You're not satisfied with my answer."
"Yes I am."
"You want me to say something else."
"Like what?"
"Like I like you or something. That's a normal reason for a date."
"Yeah, it is, but that's okay. I'm far from home and when you date someone, you look forward to more like long-term stuff."
"Or you can live in the now, like I am."
"So, I can like like you, for the rest of my trip here?"
"Yes, if you want."
"And you can like me too for the rest of my trip here?"
"Yes."
I let out a giggle.
