The idea of Galileo Cosmosnap came to Daydreaming Birdie when it was required for CRiTORA: Abnormal's current version to have more threats. He suggested Kepler have a rival, which was developed into Galileo Cosmosnap. Galileo's first design was sketched by Garrett Eulett.

While Daydreaming Birdie was satisfied with Galileo's design at this point, it took him a while for him to decide a final color scheme. Galileo was initially going to be dark blue and yellow, but it would make him look like Blastoise from Pokémon, so he was made orange and gray.
