"Simon hurry up! We don't have all day?!?" Nan shrieked as we stormed across the street. My hands filled with different kind of pastries, mostly cupcakes.

"Sorry- it's not very easy to carry eight boxes of cupcakes!!" I groaned as I tried to catch up to her. She was so stressed, as if she were in charge of the whole ordeal.
For context, today was new years eve and we had been invited to this huge party, the whole towns invited actually.
But my nan decided to help out with organising, to impress her little gardening clique.
So I suppose she IS organising it...the food part anyways. I've been her minion these past few days, I've only had time to call Nick maybe 2 times..
I might go insane.

"Be glad you didn't have to bake them!" She scoffed as we continued to rush past the strangers on the street.
"Oh yeah- I just had to...decorate and pack them." I panted, she simply rolled her eyes and carried on walking.

"Oh my god Mol- I'm so glad you're here! Nan has been going nuts over this party...I'm so happy it's all finally going to end" I sighed as I dropped my shoulders, Molly gave me a reassuring smile.
"At least you've something to write onto your CV now." She giggled.

"You're right- I bet Nick has zero work experience!!" I smirked as I micheviouslly rubbed my hands together like a fly.
"Uh..Simon I was just joking it doesn't actu--"

"No, no...you're absolutely right Mol! You're a genius!! I'm ten steps ahead of him BAHAAA!?!?" I continued with a manic laugh.
"Yep, he's officially lost the plot." Molly quietly mumbled to herself.

"Simon! Quit the procrastinating, Come over here!!" Nan shouted across the garden causing me to flinch. I quickly rushed over to her and did whatever chores she had left for me, except this time I did it with pleasure. Just because I'm in love with the guy doesn't mean I'll let him win the bet!

After running around like a lost chicken, I finally had time for myself and decided to sit down next to the food stand until Molly had approached me once again.
"Tired huh?" She smirked as she took another chair and sat beside me.
"Nah, I'm quite pleased with myself. While bettering Nick, I also managed to get my 10,000 steps in. I bet he's just revising maths right now, nerd." I smirked proudly, my chin up high before releasing a sudden gasp.
"He's probably revising maths right now!? I should be revising too..."

"Simon we just finished our exams, I'm sure studying is the last thing on his mind right now."

"Oh, you don't know him like I do!"
The both of us shared a laugh.
Then Molly looked over at me.
"I talked to that girl by the way..." I looked back at her, she had caught my attention.

"And?" I asked, my head slightly turned.

"Well uh...we had a long chat about breakups and feelings...and then the kiss. Said she remembers it but wanted to stay friends because she's confused and doesn't want hurt my feelings or something. That's all there is to it I guess." She sighed before looking down at the soft grass.

"Aw I'm sorry Mol...but hey, at least she told you now instead of leading you on." I smiled, trying to reassure her.

"Yeah."

"And you got yourself another friend! I say it's a win- win."

"Do you like the bouquets by the way?" She asked, trying to change the topic. I looked up at the hanging bouquets and admired them in all their beauty. They had all kinds of flowers sprinkled in there from daisies, to tulips, to roses...you name it! They were beautiful.
