Chapter 2: The Little Clown Makes an Entrance

Zhuang Yu was stunned by the epic-like scene.

So, there really were human Tribes living on giant beasts. Such a scene was even more unbelievable than the most grandiose and stunning sci-fi movies.

It meant that what was recorded in his "Daoist Canon" was real.

But here's the problem: this definitely wasn't Earth. Why did a ancient book from Earth record the existence of this world? Moreover, on Earth, Zhuang Yu and others found giant beast fossils. What connection did Earth have with this world? Zhuang Yu's mind was filled with questions.

But no matter how many questions he had, they couldn't override his hunger.

According to his vague memory, Zhuang Yu walked towards the distant gigantic golden centipede while heading outside.

The road was made of mud, clearly trampled by people. He hadn't walked far before finding the place to collect berries, perhaps nearing the end as there were only a few people collecting, scattered here and there.

Zhuang Yu walked over.

Leading the distribution of berries was a tough-looking woman with a bucket-like waist. In front of her lay a pile of fruits wrapped in animal skin.

Seeing Zhuang Yu approaching, the woman suddenly shouted, "Hold on."

Then she picked up two berries from the animal skin and handed them over again.

Zhuang Yu took them, but frowned. Normally, he should be grateful for receiving something given to him by others, but... both of the berries in his hand were already half rotten.

Seeing Zhuang Yu frown, the tough woman directly shouted, "Still not satisfied? If you are, go back to the Water Marsh Tribe. Why bother continuing to pester our Young Master? Our Young Master doesn't look up to you."

Her loud voice attracted everyone's attention.

Zhuang Yu felt embarrassed. He was obviously unwelcome. Probably everyone in the Golden Centipede Tribe wanted him gone, but for some reason, it seemed they couldn't directly drive him away.

Zhuang Yu touched his nose. Even if everyone disliked him, he couldn't leave for the time being. He knew nothing about this world. Where could he go?

Even if someone was willing to send him back to the Water Marsh Tribe, once he went back, he would probably be discovered by familiar people due to his abnormality.

Enduring the pointing and whispering, Zhuang Yu decided to just accept the half-rotten berries. He wasn't particularly picky. The remaining halves were still edible. It's just that as a grown man, two berries the size of fists weren't enough.

Seemingly understanding Zhuang Yu's thoughts, the tough woman said, "Everyone gets two."

Zhuang Yu looked around, and indeed, even those drooling only had two berries in their hands. This woman hadn't lied to him.

Most of the people drooling over the berries were four or five years old, with big heads and sunken eyes, similar to malnourished African children.

Zhuang Yu thought, it seemed that life in the Golden Centipede Tribe was as shocking as the scene he had just witnessed, and it was equally shocking to him. Such a disparity was indeed strange.

Even though everyone was living in such dire conditions, they were willing to give him two berries each. What else could he say?

Zhuang Yu nodded and then turned away.
