"Thank God I'm graduating and this is the last time I have to cram like this because my pursuit of higher education has led me to a very interesting discovery about myself. Do you wanna hear it?" Lorelai sat at the kitchen table complaining about finals to her two daughters

"Sure" Rory replied

"I despise academics. Yup, learning, knowledge, it's all worthless. I have no idea what you see in any of it."

"Learning is fun"

"And as for me, there's that whole "I'm a minor so it's mandatory" thing." Sabrina chimed in while eating a bowl of cereal.

When she was done she decided to head upstairs to her room, as Rory convinced her mom to attend her graduation ceremony and was now attempting to convince her to invite their grandparents.

She sat on her bed, blasting music and staring at some of the sticky notes Jess had left in either her locker or books she was reading, when all of a sudden the phone next to her bed rang.

"Hello?"

"Hi." It was Jess's voice, Sabrina's heart started racing and she slapped her hand over her mouth

"Hi." She replied trying to stay calm

"Is this a bad time?"

"Um, no, just hold on a sec?" Sabrina walked over to her stereo and turned down her music "Hi."

"You said that already."

"I did. You're right, sorry."

"So, what's up?"

"Nothing. What about you?"

"Same."

"So, what have you been doing?"

"Nothin' much. Just hanging out. . . in the park, mostly."

"Central Park?"

"Washington Square Park."

"Oh."

"It's cooler."

"Yeah?"

"It's where David Lee Roth got busted."

"Right, right. I hope he's got it together now."

"Right. Okay, well, I'm gonna go. This is long distance."

"Yeah, it is long distance."

"So, see ya."

"Yeah, see ya."

Once Jess hung up Sabrina held the phone close to her chest, as if it was Jess that she was hugging. The tears began to stream down her face no matter how hard she tried to stop them.

On the other side Jess slammed the phone back down and slapped his face. He pinched in between his eyebrows and muttered

"I'm so stupid"

The day of Lorelai's graduation ceremony Sabrina was on her way to school when she suddenly stopped in the middle of the street and headed for the bus stop.

Sabrina often visited New York and had a pretty good understanding of where most places were. She usually came here for shopping purposes or music events, but this time she had another reason in mind.

Jess sat on a bench, reading, in Washington Square Park when he felt a presence behind him. He looked up to be met with familiar blue eyes.

"Hi" Sabrina said

"Hi" Jess replied "uh how are you doing?"

"Good, how about you?"

"Good, you uh hungry?"

"Starving"

"You always are, come on I know a place" Jess smiled

The teens walked down the streets of New York joking and talking just like they did back in Stars Hallow.

"I'm just saying I'm no stranger to the Big Apple."Sabrina jokingly defended

"You are if you're calling it the Big Apple."

"So I don't have the lingo down yet, but at least I have the attitude."

"You do, huh?"

"Oh yeah. When I was getting a locker for my backpack at the bus stop, there was this guy and he was just standing there staring at me and instead of ignoring him I just fixed him with a really withering stare."

"That I've got to see."

"No."

"Oh, come on, let me see your withering stare."

"It's dangerous. I could hurt you."

"I've been hurt before."

"No."

"I'm disappointed. So your arm's okay?" Jess said changing the subject

"Yeah, it looks worse than it is."

They stood in silence for a bit when Sabrina decided to blurt something out.

"I've missed you"

"I've missed you too, you have no idea......so uh here's our lunch place" Jess awkwardly coughed
