Everyone is silent as the Duke returns to the house. Not even the servants are whispering because of the situation.
He looks at mother, guilt evident in his eyes. He then says,
"I want Rienne to be brought here along with Astria. I wish to talk to them."
The guards bring Rienne here and Astria also comes.
"Oh my dear Charles, I missed you so much! Astria here is our daughter, she has light magic and Stanford blood running in her veins. But this wretched daughter of yours threw me in the basement and mistreated us both! Am I nothing to you?" she says as she points at me and lets out some tears to gain his pity
"She tried to harm Mother!" Alexander replies, or rather shouts
"Silence," the Duke says, "Why did you not tell me before that Astria is my daughter?!" he shouts angrily at her as everyone gasps
So he did cheat on mother
"We were both married at that time, and my Husband was alive. I thought Astria was his, because everyone knows that the crystal blue eyes of the Stanfords only regain their true colors after at least 10 years of age. Astria's eyes were coloured at that time so I did not know she was your daughter. But recently her eyes turned crystal blue and after she awakened the 'light' magic as a commoner I was sure that she was your daughter and has noble blood. But your wife and her children disrespected us and treated us like filth! How dare they do this to us! To your true love and daughter!" she exclaims
Wait, so she even cheated on her husband? And did she just insult mother! Oh I am so finishing off this Duke and his 'true love' now.
"Control your anger Eleanor" Orion said in a strict voice
"You were nothing but a mistake I made long ago, Rienne" the Duke says looking at her with disgust,
"Esmerelda is my wife and the Duchess of Stanford. You disrespected this dukedom and even tried to harm her. You also insulted my son who will be the future Duke and Eleanor who is the crown prince's fiance. I hope you know these are punishable offenses."
"Looks like someone got a nice payback" said Orion as he flew above me
"How dare you speak to me like that! I loved you so much! Do you not love me anymore? Because of this ugly witch!" she says as she tries to attack mother but the knights hold her tight and Alexander comes in front of mother.
"I suggest this woman be killed DUKE, or rest assured I will make sure she lives a torturous life." he says
Wait, he called him DUKE?! He always calls him father, he must be really angry.
"Shut up!" shouts Rienne, "You do not care about me but what about our daughter?! She has your blood! You have to keep her! And I am her mother! No one can disrespect me!" she says as she looks towards Astria
Astria is already crying heavily, and now she just falls down on the floor in shock as some maids help her up.
The Duke looks conflicted, and hurt. He then looks at mother, as if asking her to make a decision.
So he wants her to clean up his mess
But mother does not say anything. Good mother!
The Duke looks back at Rienne and says
"Astria is my daughter, so she will live here as she has the Stanford blood. But you will not be welcome here, and you will not work here either. However Astria will be allowed to meet you as she is your daughter, in fact, she can leave with you right now to pack her stuff and spend time with you before she moves here permanently."

It has been 4 days since then. Astria is supposed to come back in 3 days. Just great.
Mother has finally moved on from the Duke and only talks with him when necessary. She mostly spends her time with me and Alex nowadays.
I am supposed to start the academy in 4 months. The real plot of the story has begun, but it is changed.
We all are sitting in the dining hall as the butler comes running and says,
"Master, Miss Rienne is no more. She drank poison. Miss Astria is returning to the estate in a few hours."
Everyone looks shocked. The Duke looks distressed and guilty as he stands up.
"Let Astria come home and then we will decide what to do. Please bury Rienne in a proper place with respect." he says as he walks out.
