Chapter Eleven

Mason Black

I wake up and feel so energized that I got up to run a couple times around the territory.
"Mason?" I turn around and see Uncle Chad
"Morning Chad" I say, he smiles a little
"Morning, why are you awake so early? Not even your parents are up yet" He says, I shrug
"I felt like running" I say, he nods
"Have you found your mate?" He asks, I shake my head
"Next week is mating season right?" I ask, he nods
"But you have Lycan blood so you'll be able to sense her before then" He says, thats new information to me
"I didn't know that" I say furrowing my brows
"Yeah, your parents found each other before so you should find her before as well" He says, I nod slowly
"Hopefully I will, that way I can keep her safe" I say, he chuckles
"Just like Derek" He says shaking his head

After talking with Chad, I came back to my room, showered and got dressed. I step out of my room just as Sarah does
"You look beautiful" I say, my eyes slightly widen as I realize I said that out loud
"Thank you" She says blushing, a small smile visible
"Sarah, want to go somewhere with me...tonight?" I ask, fuck wait did I just say that
"I did, she's beautiful and I want to get to know her" Levi says, god damn it
"Levi, what if she isn't our mate" I link him, he shrugs
"So what, she'll always be apart of our life anyways" He says

"Mason? Did you hear me?" Sarah snaps me out of my thoughts
"Huh? No, sorry my wolf, Levi is annoying at the moment" I say, he growls and I just ignore him
"Oh, he has a nice name. I said sure, what are we going to do?" She asks, I smile
"Really? Okay, um well I don't know yet but dress casually. Nothing too fancy" I say, she laughs a little
"Okay" She says and we walk downstairs
"Be ready by seven" I say, she smiles nodding then goes to the kitchen and I smile as I walk outside

"Did I just hear a date is in place?" Steve asks as I walk out making me jump since I didn't know he was right next to the damn door
"Bro, what the hell! Don't pop up out of nowhere like that" I say, he doesn't stop smirking as he crosses his arms

"Date. With Sarah. Tonight" He says, I shrug
"Levi took over and asked her without me even knowing what the hell was going on, so I guess" I say
"Bro, thats great. She seems like the one for you, I don't know maybe she is your mate" He says

"If she is, lucky me because she truly is beautiful" I say, he whistles as we walk down the steps
"Already whipped and it's not even official yet" He says, I punch his arm
"Ow!" He says loudly making me smirk as he rubs where I just punched him

"When did your parents get here?" He asks
"Last night, they're investigating to report to the goddesses" I say, he nods
"Oh, damn they have so much on their plate" He says, I nod
"I told them we can handle this but you know how Mom is" I say, he chuckles

"She cares and worries too much" He says, I nod sighing
"I don't want to be King Alpha if I'm truthful" I say
"What? Really? But you and your Dad always talk about how you're almost ready" He says, I sigh
"Yeah well recently I've realized that I'm good with just being an Alpha, I don't want to have to have even more on my plate" I say, Steve nods understanding what I'm trying to say

"I see, but your parents cant be King and Queen forever Mason. You're their only son, you and your mate kind of have to take over" He says
"I know, that's a reason why I wish my Mom wouldn't have had that miscarriage all those years ago" I say

"Oh yeah, she had a miscarriage two years after you were born...damn" Steve says, I sigh thinking back to when my parents told me that I would've been a big brother then that happened and after it the doctor told Mom she couldn't have any more kids. An effect from some fight she was in to protect the pack and well me.

"Lets go check up on everything bro" Steve says noticing how silent I got at the mention of that topic, I nod and follow him

A/N: Pretty shitty chapter I know but since I am now officially done with school for a good while the upcoming chapters will be better!
