Protecting Her

Chapter Nineteen

John sent two vampires to get me and they brought me outside where he was waiting.
"Join the others around us, we don't want my daughter trying to escape" John says to them, I growl
"I'm not your daughter" I say, he smirks
"We've discussed this Sarah, now can you do this?" He asks then on the hand he has palm up, a ball of light forms. He looks at me, I gulp bringing my palm up like his and I focus, I think about my parents and Mason, of my pack, of keeping them safe. Then a ball of green light forms making my eyes widen
"Good, good. You have the
most basic part down" He says, I shut my hand making it disappear
"Why dont you just take it already" I say
"You're not at your strongest, that's why" He says
"How long will it take?" I ask
"Depends if you're a fast learner or if you're as slow as a ten year old then it'll take years" He says
"Then get to fucking teaching me John because I don't plan on staying here for years" I say
"Alright, come with me" He says then starts walking towards a table where a couple books lay
"What are these?" I ask
"Books about our kind, about what we can do and how to do them" He says
"You want me to study them all" I say, he nods
"Once you finish reading through all of them, come see me so we can test your knowledge" He says
"This is what you do to ten year olds?" I ask
"We give them one book at a time and help them out but since you are in such a rush, you should be able to do it" He says then leaves followed by two guys, I look around to see vampires surrounding me by the trees then I look back down to the books sighing and I start reading.

Masons POV

I punch the bag harder and harder as the memory of that jackass with Sarah in his grip then vanishing replays in my head
"Wow there hunny, calm down" Mom says walking into the pack training room Drew showed me, I punch once more then hug the bag leaning on it breathing heavily then my moms soft hand squeezes my shoulder
"I'm so pissed at myself mom, I wasn't able to save her" I say, she turns me around holding my face in her small hands making me look into her eyes
"You tried your best Mas, don't beat yourself up over this" She says
"I can't help it mom, I failed as a mate" I say, she shakes her head then hugs me and I wrap my arms around her
"Don't say that, you are a great mate to Sarah. Its not your fault that you were dealing with a fairy, they have lots of tricks up their sleeves so it is not your fault" She says
"We will find her right mom?" I ask pulling away, she smiles nodding
"Of course we will, we are Kingsley-Blacks and with the Woods by our side, we are for sure getting her back safe and sound" She says, I nod
"You're my son Mason, stop doubting yourself and start believing in your strength. Talk with your wolf, he'll help motivate you and help you start believing in yourself" She says then kisses my cheek
"Thank you mom" I say before kissing her cheek
"Now, go shower. You smell" She says and I smirk raising my arms up trying to get her face near them
"Mason stop!" She yells running behind a bench making me laugh
"Love you mom" I say as I head to the door
"Love you too" She says looking at me from behind her shield, I look at the blue sky
"Sarah, I'll find you, I swear it" I whisper then continue walking towards the pack house and up to my room then into the shower letting what my mom said sink in

A/N: Sorry I didn't update on Thursday, I've been stressed the fuck out!

I start college on Monday and I'm so nervous!

But anyways, I'll try to update on Thursday like usual and make it a longer chapter
