Doflamingo: What is this feeling?

You gently took a white orchid and brought your face towards it, letting the sweet scent pleasantly fit your nostrils. They had grown strong and beautiful and you, being the gardener who helped them through every one of their steps, couldn't help but being proud. You were sure these were the prettiest flowers of the garden.

Too deep in thought and awe, you had failed to notice the intense stare that your captain, Donquixote Doflamingo, had thrown in your direction for a while now. His hands supported the weight of his head as his fingers were intermingled, his strange sunglasses reflecting the shiny sun light coming from above. It was another sunny and hot day in the island of Dressrosa.

"Young Master!" A feminine voice called from the large and luxurious swimming pool, but he barely paid attention, slightly turning his head that way. It was one of the many girls who were having fun in the water, waving vigorously. She was, clearly, trying to get his attention, lifting her body on a floater and accentuating her voluptuous chest; ignoring the glares that came from her friends.

Without answering to her flirting, he just went back to staring at you, but when he wanted to notice, you were far away, looking after another plant you had taken care of. Slightly gritting his teeth, he got up almost hastily from the comfy sofa, tucked his hands into his pockets and walked away; always under the confused stare of the girls.

It was almost frustrating to feel something like this. Something so new. He had never been so obsessed with anyone before, and now he couldn't help but have you on his mind. That's what surprised Doflamingo the most.

You were just a normal girl he had accepted into his crew and family long ago, who just loved talking to flowers; some of the other members usually doubted your sanity, but Doflamingo found this custom of yours to be quite interesting.

Even you wouldn't consider yourself more beautiful than the girls who played around and swam on sunny days like this one. He had never felt attracted to a woman so much, and it annoyed him. He didn't want to be in love. Who would?

Love is for the weak.

His father, Corazon... those were gentle and loving souls, totally the opposite of him. They loved, he hated. He couldn't let himself get moved by his feelings, in the remote case they existed.

Interest. It had to be just interest.

So deep in thought, he ended noting that he had walked inside of the palace, and into the huge library.

Even though it didn't feel right, maybe having you to himself wasn't that bad. He didn't need to have feelings towards you, but if he wanted this tiring sensation to end, he needed to make you his.

An idea formed inside his twisted mind, having all these books surrounding him. He remembers how many years it took him to gather a library so perfect and complete. And he knows there are some books about botany around there.

With a couple of books barely covering his whole palm, the king walked into the gardens, intrigued as to why he couldn't find you. The vegetation of Dressrosa was truly wide, and he could gladly state that most of the kinds know where in his palace, all thanks to you. But now he really considered them a truly nuisance, some trees being even taller than him, which turned the gardens into a complete maze.

He should really consider exploring the immense place sometimes.

After a long walk, he finally found you watering some pansies. He stopped, watching the gentle smile that was settled on your face. He had to admit you were an attractive girl, and that would only increase the swell of pride when he managed to make you his woman.

"(Y/N)." He called, his wide smile present, and you flinched, turning to him with an embarrassed blush on your cheeks.

"Oh, hi, Young Master." You greeted, setting your watering can down. "Is there something you need?"

"I was wondering if you were interested in some books." He commented calmly, handing you what he had brought. However, your eyes didn't spark in excitement as he had expected them to.

"Thanks for offering them to me, but I'm not really into reading. I prefer to take care of the plants." He sighed mentally, and threw the books away when your attention went back to the flowers. He had to think about something to get your attention.

"Maybe you're interested in getting some new seeds." He suggested, shifting slightly. When you once again looked up at him, and smiled softly.

"I don't think that will be necessary. I bought some days ago." You explained, getting the old can again and excusing yourself as you passed by him. A little vein popped on his forehead, and he was subconsciously glad you weren't looking; otherwise he would have scared the living hell off you.

"Aren't you hungry?" He asked, clearing his throat in order to cool himself down. He hated it when things didn't go as planned inside his cunning mind. You stopped, turning and about to deny that you were, in fact, caving for something to eat, but your stomach betrayed you in the loudest and embarrassing way.

"W-Well..." You trailed off, laughing awkwardly. His smile widened, about to rip the corners of his lips apart, and walked towards you sliding a long arm around your shoulders. He couldn't help but chuckled upon noticing the blush that surfaced your cheeks.

"You've worked hard, (Y/N). Rest a bit." He muttered, earning a soft and shy nod. You had never acted so reserved around him. Certainly, these reactions were satisfying him.

"You are acting different, Young Master." You said with a small smile, trying to get closer to him without being noticed. Of course, he realized your sudden fondness. "I like it..." And he heard that too, despite it was meant to be heard by the flowers only.

"Don't get used to me fulfilling your whims..." He laughed lowly, feeling that the pressing inside his chest didn't seem to go away. His smile vanished for a moment, but as he looked at you -calm and sweet as you neared your face to a bloody red rose to inhale its scent- he realized that maybe he could live with the annoying feeling for a little while.
