The Last Born Child

The last born child
Whose innocence dazzles all
He has his whole family
Wrapped around his smallest finger
He is loved and adored by all
Such that his feet never touch the ground
Because he is transferred
From one pair of arms to another

This last born child
He never goes hungry
He lacks nothing
Always happy and laughing
Surrounded by loved ones and never lonely
Spoiled and showered with affection
From all corners

Yes, this last born child
Who sealed our mother's womb
Surely is a gift from God
This one we have here
Is never to be made to cry
His laughter is meant to fill this home

Even after the older siblings have left the nest
He is to keep mother and father company
Until he is ready to leave the nest
On his own
As we once were.

The last born child
Will always be
The baby of the family
No matter his age.
