Chapter Thirty (unedited)

The sun had risen once again but the darkness of power had consumed the light. Savanna could feel it. The way she smelled the children's and women's fear, the anxiousness of wolves who stood like solders. They came prepared just as she came with a steady heart. She shall not be weak, especially when today is the day

The day she might die

Savanna stared at her reflation. Pale and hard but she forced herself to stay relax, soft. She needed her mind blank and focus at the mission

Savanna had received the new of Amanda recovery last night. She was happy indeed only, she felt the guilt again. The thought of seeing Her face and the way she envisioned her holding her now empty stomach , Savanna blew out a breath, she was too afraid to see her. Finding Her muscle tight, she massaged it with a flinch when she began to feel an ache on her shoulders

"Goddess give me strength" she needed it especially now. Her hand instinctively held her heart, her face scrunched up to force herself to forget everything but today

Focus Savanna

Lucas

Once again Savanna opened her eyes and saw herself on the mirror, her room stood behind her where she saw her mothers necklace, safely tucked on the bed. Everything seemed clean and normal. Savanna decided to clean we room after the war- if they win then that would be a victorious moment to us wolves. As Savanna though about it, her smile faded as soon as she remembered...

She wouldn't see the world after this

she wouldn't see their happiness because she knew she would have been banished to a place like Vashka or worst, persecuted.

When a sigh escaped her mouth, she began to prepare.

Lucas. Lucas. Lucas

"Lucas" she whispered. My mind has been playing with her mind often. It was disturbing and achingly painful to even hear his name. To see his smile in her dreams and to feels his arms. Goddess she missed him

"Savanna"

She began to gasp when she heard no other then Lucas behind her. His face seen against the reflection of her mirror. As if she couldn't believe it, she turned to see him there and real. Why was he so hauntingly handsome?

Get it together Savanna!

Clearing her head, Savanna silently prayed before she gave a stiff smile

"Lucas"

'Be strong' she reminded herself. Don't let him see you weak

Savanna held her sobs, the weak side of her that only Lucas could bring. Why did it have to be like this? why did everything have to end like this?

She didn't know but as she watched Lucas there, in her room with an unbearable expression. Savanna then thought

I'm not being strong

No, she was hiding and if this is her last time to see him then and its the right time to give everything she has. Shes done with pain, done with chasing only to be ignore. This time, she wanted to let go and smile on her last
