6. Someone comes back into the main character's life. They've changed so much are they really the same person?
7. Dripping water is all that the main character hears at first. Where are they? Why are they there?
8. A room full of butterflies is not as beautiful as it first seems.
9. Messages seem to be arriving in reverse order.
10. A valuable or powerful artifact has come into the main character's possession.
Note: These do tend to lean towards fantasy, mystery, and horror because those are the genres that interest me the most. I'm trying to put a good mix into each chapter.
