I'm not a romance writer. The fact I've managed something vaguely ressembling a romance between Cal and Lucas in my Blood Mage stories is a near miracle. So I set myself a challenge to come up with five romance prompts.

21. A disastrous cooking class ends with fire, both literally and romantically.

22. Pick an improbable place for the couple to first meet, like a morgue, pickle factory, or snake pit.

23. Tell a love story from the perspective of the main character's cat (or other pet), including how they interpret human courtship rituals.

24. Not all romances have a happily ever after. Write about the end of a long term relationship and how the main character moves on with their life. DO NOT make the relationship abusive, just an average relationship that breaks down.

25. Your main character is drawn to two different people and instead of choosing just one decides to see them both. Explore how they make a polyamorous relationship work.

26. Your main character falls in love with someone from another time, past or future.
