Exhausted, I hauled myself to my feet. After having heard the boy's statement before, I'd abandoned him there in the hallway and sprinted in the direction of my next class.
I tripped a couples times, but finally managed to get there just as the bell rang and the students before me bean pouring out the door.
"Why can't school be irrelevant in real life like it is in animes?" I groaned, breathing out a tired sigh and leaning up against the wall. My eyes fluttered shut and my lips formed a straight line. I had quickly decided to wait for everyone else to finish leaving the room first before entering.
"That would be nice, wouldn't it?" A familiar voice spoke up. I lifted my head and my eyes snapped back open.
"Oh hey, Horsie."
"Excuse me?"
"Nothing," I snapped, coughing. Sitting up straight, I looked at the guy closely for the first time.
I paused for a moment before grinning and sticking out my hand.
"The name's (Y/N)," I said. A moment of silence passed before he slowly tilted his head.
"Cool."
"... Cool?" I repeated.
"Yeah. Cool," he said with a shrug. My eye twitched in irritation and I let my hand fall back to my side.
Fine. Two could play at that game.
"Kay," I said with a close-eyed grin. "See ya later then, Horse face!"
And with that, I turned my back to him and walked into the classroom.
