The next morning at school.

When I walked in.

The first thing I saw was Melanie flirting with Austin by the lockers.

Seems to me like he was enjoying it.

He had a huge grin on his face.

While Melanie had her hands all over him.

Kissing his face all over.

I rolled my eyes.

Of course.

For a second I actually thought maybe he truly liked me.

Maybe he really doesn't like Melanie.

How could I have been so dumb to think that.

Well at least now I don't have to tell him who to choose.

Since he's already made his mind up.

He wants Melanie and Melanie only.

Melanie is good for him anyway.

They're both popular.

Considered cool.

Both really big players.

And then there's me.

The really awkward emo girl.

I should've known we could never work out.

I started to walk past them to get to my locker.

I guess Austin must have saw me.

"Hey Jane wait up!" He yelled as he ran after me.

I looked behind me.

And saw him catching up to me.

I didn't stop walking.

I just kept going.

I really just need to let him go.

He left Melanie by the lockers who was now very pissed.

"Austin babe, where are you going?" She whined.

Austin turned around.

"Just one sec" He said.

He finally caught up with me.

"Hey Jane" He said.

"Hi" I replied as we both went up the steps.

We made our way to my locker.

He leaned against the other lockers while I opened mine.

I looked at him.

He was giving me a very flirty look.

Oh god

Austin.

Really?

He then wrapped his arm around my waist.

And began to lean forward to kiss me.

I quickly pushed him off.

He looked at me puzzled.

"Jane. What's wrong?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes.

"Everything's wrong, Austin, I can't go on with this" I said.

"With what?" He asked.

"Being the other girl. I've always been the other girl, even when we were dating, Austin" I said.
