I stood in shock as Aunt Aadhya told us that Alia was missing

What? Why? How? When?

"A-Aadhya, don't worry. S-She might be running late or-" Mum says trying to console Aunt Aadhya

"It's all ruined. I knew something wasn't right with Alia last night. And now" Uncle Samar cried

It was true. Alia wasn't herself last night. Alia was either chirpy and flirty, or a nark, who would always complain about anything and everything, however, last night she was quiet. She went to bed surprisingly early, to get her so called 'beauty sleep'. That was the last time I saw her

"Was she here this morning?" Mum asks

"N-No....I thought we'd meet her at the venue.....B-but...Now.." Aunt Aadhya shivers

"Call Sidharth" Uncle Samar orders

Dad rushes out the door in search for Sidharth.

Although I did hate Sidharth and Alia, I do silently pity Sidharth. He truly loves Alia. Within minutes Sidharth storms into the door, pushing me aside as he walks towards his mother.

"Mum, where is she?" He gasps

"She's gone. We've looked everywhere. EVERYWHERE" Aunt Aadhya cries

Sidharth's face falls. His eyes are focused on the ground, with the smallest tear in his eyes.

"S-She cant" He whispers to himself

"Sidharth. Dear. I promise everything will be okay" Mum says comforting him

Sidharth doesn't respond, instead storms out of the room in rage

"Poor boy! How will he cope now. He loved her" Uncle Samar sighs

"Why did she leave! If only we'd know!" Aunt Aadhya cries

In between the chaos, I spot a small white envelope of the corner of the makeup table.

Could it be?

I quickly walk towards the table and open the letter

"A-Aunty....It's from Alia" I mutter

The room is silent

"Read it" Dad says

"Dearest Sidharth, Aunt and Uncle

This is Alia. I know you must be surprised, but I have left. I have left for the good of your family, expecally Sidharth. I know he loved me a lot, and I love him too, but I know that his feelings have been shifting over the past few days. Marrying him would be a mistake on my behalf, and I know that he'd be happier if I left him. Sidharth, I know you might be hurt, but I truly did this for your good. The spark we had for the last few years had disappeared in just a few weeks. I expect you to know why. I am sorry, but I can't get married to you. I did this for the best.

Alia"

I stand in shock after I read the final words. Alia left because of me. The guilt filled my body as I hand the letter over to Aunt Aadhya.

Why Alia? Why did you leave us? Don't you know Sidharth's love for you?
