"I was casting an illusion. I do not want to attend this party."

To say completely, I was stunned.

Usually people who have coronations are over the top excited, yet she bluntly said that she didn't want to attend.

"Why?" I ask

"Why?" She repeats, "Would you like to talk to fate and ask him, 'Why me?' Or would you rather talk to the person who caused your death, which I am doing right now."

"Well, I-" I got cut off.

"Would you attend a party where you know what your ultimate fate will be or would you try to change that?"

"I would try to change that. I don't know what destiny has in store but I hope you don't take the wrong path." I say, trying to connect with her on some level.

"No, Leon....I hope you don't take the wrong path." She says turning her head.

"I'm sorry, but I forgot your name." I said, trying to find another reason for us to talk longer.

I felt a pull towards her, something that I couldn't put my finger on.

"Rose Gwendolyn." Rose stands up and bows.

"Rose, a lovely name indeed. May I ask why you wear a veil?"

Is it just like the flies say? Is she that ugly?

Probably not, she has a lovely voice.

"Do you promise not to tell anyone?" She whispers

"Promise." I say firmly.

She takes her small delicate hands and takes off the mask.

I just can't utter a word, in fear of ruining her beauty.

Other nobles would call her bi-colored eyes a disgrace, a flaw, but to me I just added on to her flawless features.

"Uhm...Is there something on my face?" She asks.

I take note of the small blush creeping on her face.

"Ah, no, no! You're face is perfectly fine. I was just surprised. That's all."

"Oh, I see." She says, standing up, "Well, Prince Leon, we'll meet in couple of years. Don't forget me."

"I promise!" I yell after her vanishing body.

I walk back inside to the party, when whoomp!

I fall straight on my butt.

"Hey, Liam." I say, laughing.

"Hi, Rose." He looks flustered, "Lady Louise is looking for you, y'know?"

"Oh, ok. Thanks for telling me."

I hurry off in search for my mother.
