baby, i thought of a funny thing today:when i saw you i imagined myself
writing poetry in your memory
writing love songs with
your lips in my mind
painting portraits
with the thought of
your gentle caress on
my skin
when i saw you, i thought
this boy is worth a hundred epic poems
a hundred days' worth of smiles
a hundred love letters
a hundred love songs.but when i think of you, now,
with a more mature and that of a heartbroken girl's hindsight
i think of tears and stolen glances
the ghost of your memory
the idea of what could have been
when i think of you, now,
i remember the cold knife you planted in me
from when you left me with nothing
when i think of you, now,
i think of the tragedy that is you, b,
and all those dusty poems i've collected in my mind whenever i thought of yousad thing, isn't it, honey?
