lost, adrift, the earth is angrier here–they claw, they scratch, they pull.
no more achingly smooth life of never-ending dazed blue
no more softened paranoia, endless dark clouds, demons kept at bay, black hearts repressed
that path of long ago.
and so the shadows went loose; the shadows went wild!
there it went, white and red and purple and black, stones sharpened, my skin on fire.
the path is still lonely and empty and dark, and it chews and gnaws and bites.
but now i am free.
here i am fucking godless.
here i am still sad, but here i am finally more than that—i am a girl, ambitious.
i am a girl, hungry for a bite of the world.
i am a girl, angry.
