Chapter 23 (Special)

"Oooh guys, the cherry blossoms are blooming!" Kaori gushed

"Heh, yeah." Tsubaki laughed

"Woah, hey. It's been a year since we've all met you Kaori." Watari said

"Oh for reals?" Kaori said, sarcastically. Watari scratched his head with a small smile

"And to think," Kaori began, "that over there, a year ago, Kousei was taking naughty pictures of me and posting them on the internet." She smiled, reminiscing

"I was not!" Kousei said fuming

"I dunno Kousei, you seem like the type of person to do something like that." Tsubaki mused

"Yeah, he learned from the best." Watari said smugly. Tsubaki smacked him

"You'd think you'd have better things to remember than that, Kaori." Kousei grumbled

"Well it's not really something to forget, it is?" Kaori smiled slyly

"Ewww guys. Let's not get too deep into this." Tsubaki giggled

"Kousei is in too deep with all of this stuff. Been doing it since the second grade." Watari chuckled

"Anyway," Kaori said "we should all go to this new restaurant that opened up. I heard it has some Kaori-worthy delights." she said, eyes sparkling

"What do you mean, delights?" Watari said, one eyed.

Kaori glared at him "I mean sweets. They don't have canelés," she sniffed "but they do have some pretty good cake."

"I can see why you'd go there." Tsubaki laughed

"I don't think I like the double meaning in this conversation," Kousei said quickly "Let's just go."

"Oh, whatever Kousei." Tsubaki said, sticking her tongue out at him "I think we should. Anyway, I've been meaning to ask, Watari. How come you've never taken me on a date?" she pouted

Watari grinned "Didn't think you were that type of girl."

"How does that even make sense??" Tsubaki pouted

"I mean, just look at you! You look more like a man than anything else." Watari cheesed

"AHHHH I'LL KILL YOU!" Tsubaki screamed, chasing after Watari

Kaori smiled, watching them run off "They're so cute, aren't they?"

"Yeah," Kousei chuckled "Perfect for each other."

Kousei and Kaori both walked under the blossoming cherry trees in silence

"Spring is so pretty, isn't it? Like the world can be such a terrible place, but this stays for certain." Kaori said softly

"The world isn't that bad. There are many things to appreciate when you think about it." Kousei mused

"Yeah? Like what?" Kaori said, looking up at him

Kousei shook the blossoms that had fallen into Kaori's hair "Well.. like you."

Kaori smiled "Yeah Friend A? You really think so?"

He leaned in "Yeah I think I do."

Tsubaki and Watari stared at the couple from afar "Are they... kissing?" Watari said dumbly

"Yes, you idiot. Like you haven't done it before." Tsubaki said, annoyed

"Hey man, I just never thought of Kousei like that. Figured he'd be thirty when he'd get his first kiss."

Tsubaki hissed "Shhhh, I'm trying to listen."

"What's there to listen?? They're just kissing." he said confused "Don't tell me you're trying to pick up tips." he smirked

Tsubaki hit him "You know I'm not trying to do that. I'm a born natural."

"Are you?" Watari asked grinning

"Yes," she pouted "And I'm not going to demonstrate."

At this point Watari was laughing "Oh aren't you? I'll see about that!"

He picked up Tsubaki and kissed her and together they ran off to meet Kousei and Kaori.
