Katie grabbed my arm. It felt as if she was going to rip it off. We all stood there. Sara, Cassidy, Katie, their boyfriends, and me. We didn't move. Not even an inch. I could feel Katie's hand sweating profusely.

Are we in shock? Did we forget how to use our legs? How about our voices? We didn't scream. We didn't say anything. We didn't move. We were stupid.

"RUN!!" A random kid screamed, slamming into us and bringing us back to the real world.

"Oh my God! RUN!" Katie was the first one of us to scream.

We all moved in the same direction as the kid who bumped into us. Down the hallway we dodged other kids also yelling at them to run. No one took us seriously until they saw for themselves what we were running from.

I couldn't help the thought that this shouldn't be happening. It couldn't be happening. It seems like my whole life has been nothing but one bad incident after another.

Didn't we have an alarm for something like this? Shouldn't the police be on their way to control this situation? I thought to myself while running as fast as I possibly could towards the office to tell the principal to sound the alarm and lock the school down. Maybe they don't know whats going on.

I looked behind me. No one was chasing us anymore. The black figures aren't there. Now that I think about it, they were never chasing us. They were walking towards us shooting their guns at the floor. They were trying to scare us. Not shoot us. Not chase us. Not catch us. Why?

I stopped to catch my breath for a second as we reached the principals office.

My friends and I quickly opened the door running inside.

"Principal Bar-!" I started to say before I realized I was looking at him. Dead. On the floor. Shot. My heart almost jumped out of my chest. The beat wasn't slowing down, I wasn't sure it could go any faster, but it did.

That's why there isn't an alarm. He is dead. He can't sound it.

That's why they weren't chasing after us. They know no one is on their way to save us. They have time to do what they want. What about the teachers? Don't they hear the guns?

"What are we going to do?!" Katie said starting to panic grabbing her hair looking as if she is going to pull it out any second.

"We need to get somewhere safe. Somewhere they can't get into. Then we call the police." Cassidy said already leaving the office. She seemed calmer than us about the situation. Maybe she was in shock.

We didn't run. We walked. We figured if we ran they would hear it. If we walked, we could be quiet enough to no let them know where we were. The halls now a ghost town, every door we tried was locked. The teachers must know what's going on. Under no circumstance are they suppose to open the doors. In other words we're screwed.

The couples were holding onto each other tightly, I had no one to do such a thing with.

"I saw a lot of people run towards the gym. They're probably hiding in the equipment closet. There isn't a lot of room in there it would be easy to hide behind things." Cassidy said hopeful that we could get into there.

"Should we go there?" I looked around at everyone to see them react as we shouldn't really be talking anyway.

Katie isn't with us.

"Katie??" I stopped walking. Everyone then noticed too.

"Katie??" We all said aloud.

"Where is she? Did we leave her?" I turned around in a fright, starting to walk back to the office.
