Emily's POV

I'm not sure how much time has passed. Zac brought me down to the basement. This is a great example of a room I didn't know existed. If they had put Katie here I never would have found her. They were stupid to put her in Alec's room.

I wasn't sure..but based on how things go around here..Katie was probably meant to be Alec's. The thought made me want to puke.

It was dark down here. I couldn't move. My arms and hands tied behind me and to a chair, my legs tied together and also to the chair. If I tried to move I'd flop over. There was nothing down here except for a chair and a table. The only light I had came from a dirty window that was slowly being covered up by snow. Every new flake that fell covered my light more and more.

Was I ever going to be free from this prison? My mind filled with thoughts of Katie. Was she okay? Was she dead?

The door to the basement opened. I couldn't see it but I could hear it. That steps that came down the stairs sounded familiar. Zac. He's the only one who's come down here. I've recognized his pattern of walking.

When he threw me down here he told me he would be right back. It was a few hours before he did - and when he did he brought a sandwich expecting me to be able to eat it with my hands tied behind my back.

A good "Fuck you" is all I gave him before he came back a couple hours later to retrieve it.

When he came back the next time it was to make sure I hadn't found out a way to get out of the rope he put me in. He had something planned. A way to torture me. He just hadn't figured out the right time to do it. Every time he came down my heart would become faster and I think he noticed.

I think he liked the way I was scared of not knowing if this was the time he would inflict pain or not. He definitely liked it.

Zac finished walking the stairs and stood across from me now.

"Good morning!" He exclaimed. Was it morning? It had been a whole day??

He walked over to me and grabbed my face, squeezing hard. "I said..." he cleared his throat. "Good morning."

I rolled my eyes. "Good morning." I ripped my face from his grip.

"You know...I slept on it." He leaded against the table that was next to me.

I must have looked confused.

"The decision on what to do with you." He continued.

"I've decided that killing you would be most satisfying." He rubbed his hands together.

"Ahh so you're giving up?" I bit my lip. Here comes my attitude.

"Excuse me?" He cocked his head. "What the hell do you mean I'm giving up? I think taking your life is far from giving up on anything, I would call that..winning." He grinned.

"Really? I thought your goal was to break me? Make me listen? Wasn't that the point of switching me from Cole to you? But you couldn't do it...could you?" I laughed.

I was still fighting for my life. Convincing him that he shouldn't kill me was apart of that.

He stood up - clearly hurt by my words.

With one quick raise of his hand I felt a sting on my cheek. He gripped my face once more.

"You're right. I'll break you...then kill you." He winked.

"I don't care about my life." I lied. "All I cared about was Katie's and Sara's."

"Yeah? And now they're both dead." He stood tall.
