ady stood shocked and confused at the bar with the mystery man beside her. confused, because suddenly her friends had vanished from her side, nowhere to be found. shocked mostly due to the fact that the mystery man was beside her, asking if he could buy her a drink. overall, she was satisfied that her look was enough to bring this man out of vip to her, instead of vice versa.

ady smiled at the boy next to her, then turned to the bartender. "i'll have a vodka special, please."

the boy handed the bartender bills, then turned back to ady, "colby," he said simply, pausing for ady to introduce herself back. ady had never felt the whole "cat's got your tongue" expression before, but with the beautiful boy in front of her, she was truly at a loss for words. so she just blinked, unable to find her voice. "what, i buy you a drink and i can't even get your name?"

ady laughed at the pouty boy, "fair is fair. i'm adalyn."

he was easily the best-looking person in the entire place, and ady couldn't help but get a little distracted by his looks as he spoke to her. it took her a minute, but she realized she wasn't listening as he spoke and she felt her cheeks get warm. "sorry, what was that?" she asked.

colby smiled, and even though ady was embarrassed at her staring, she couldn't help but smile back. "do you wanna come up to vip with me? it might be a bit easier for us to talk up there, plus it's less crowded." colby suggested, gesturing towards where he came from.

ady was entirely freaking out. not only did this beautiful boy buy her a drink, but he invited her into the vip section. "uh, sure," she quickly did a scan of the area in hopes of finding her friends to give them a quick signal. parker and rosa were standing at the end of the bar giving ady a less-than-subtle thumbs up. "i'll follow you,"

colby turned to walk in the direction he came from but stuck his hand out behind him for ady to hold on to. she wasn't sure if it was him laying on the charm or if it was just so she didn't get lost in the abys, but she didn't really care all too much for the reasoning. she grabbed his hand with her free hand, drink in the other.

she was beginning to feel incredibly nervous as she followed colby back to his group of friends. she wasn't normally the one out of her friends to ditch the group for a guy, and she felt a little bit guilty about it. even though rosa and parker definitely gave her a pass for the night, she part of her wished she had just stayed with them.

it was a little late for her to turn back now because ady could see the group of people that colby had come out on the patio with. even though there was no reason for ady to be holding onto colby's hand any longer, she clung to it like it was her lifeline.

"brother!" one of the guys exclaimed as he walked over to colby, "where did you go?"

colby laughed then gestured to ady, who stood half behind colby. "i had someone i needed to find, brother."

ady sidestepped so she was no longer hiding behind colby, then smiled at his friend. "hey, i'm adalyn."

the blonde boy nodded at the girl, "sam,"

"nice to meet ya," she replied. ady glanced around the space at colby's friends who were either talking, drinking, or dancing.

there was a total of six people, plus colby and ady in the small section. three of them were sat on a black, curved sofa, while the other three were dancing space in front of the seating.

colby led ady over to the corner section of the sofa, basically as far as they could get from the other people sitting. "i saw you outside earlier," colby stated casually, taking a sip of the dark liquid in his hand.
