[Serena’s POV]

“Ash, I was wondering, if…..” I started, we were at his house and all the pokemon had gone to their resting place after the training, except for pikachu, who was here and happily nibbling on a croissant I had brought. Hilbert was in the living room watching TV and ash and I were in the kitchen, I was helping him with the breakfast.

"What is it?" He asked when I didn't speak forward. I felt really flustered at this point and didn't know what to do. "Umm.. I was wondering if y-you could… uhhh.. g-go shop-ping with me…" I stuttered out, I didn't dare to look up from the counter or else I'd get crazy if I saw his eyes. "You mean like a date?" He asked nonchalantly. I shot red at his question, that was too straight forward. "Uh uh uh… I- I don't know…. Maybe, but I- j-just wanted your help in picking out outfits for my opening ceremony performance…" I stammered at the start but soon got the hold of it.

"Sure." He replied softly, without hesitating. My head shot up at him and he gave me a cute smile, my heart was beating at really high speed and my face was red as a tomato.

I jumped suddenly when I felt someone touch my arm. I gave out a shriek and stumbled back only to find it was Pikachu asking for more croissants. I heard laughter and looked at Ash, he was holding his stomach and laughing hard. "Oh my Arceus Serena, you're so cute when you get scared. You should have looked at your face when pikachu touched you." He laughed out, I puffed my cheeks and glared at him, yet at the same time I was blushing.

"Idiot!" I huffed out in anger. He wouldn't stop laughing, "I'm sorry, but you looked hilarious." He kept on laughing. "I'm gonna cancel the date if you won't stop!" I warned him, he suddenly got normal and asked, "I thought it was not a date?" I felt myself heat up again, I was so embarrassed that I didn't move until I heard him laughing again.

"Oh my! You're being so adorable today!" He laughed softly, then turned back to the counter and poured out the porridge in the bowl. I stood there flustered, my attention was brought back by him saying, "Are you free after the breakfast? I wanna show you something." He looked at me expectantly.

"Yeah, I am free. But what is it?"

"You'll see soon." He said and took the bowl to the dining table. I nodded my head slowly, wondering what could it be.

After breakfast we told Hilbert that we're heading out, of course he teased us about it but Ash wasn't affected by it, while I on other hand was beat red. We through the forest towards Aquacorde town.

"So what is it exactly that you wanna show me?" I asked changing the topic from Pokemon battles as I was clearly not interested. "I told you you'll see when we reach there." I pouted at him and kept following him as he led the way. Pikachu was tagging along occasionally stopping at different trees or flowers to look at or sometimes to converse with wild pokemon. It was really sad to know that he lost an eye in a battle.

"Which Pokemon was Pikachu fighting that scraped the eye?" I asked looking at pikachu, who was now looking at me at the mention of his name. "If I remember correctly it was an aggron." Ash replied after a few moments, clearly trying to recall it. "Wow, that aggron sure was tough, I mean to injure Pikachu so bad. What was the end result? Did Pikachu win?" I noticed Pikachu getting a little stiff at my words but I ignored it as Ash replied, "No, when the aggron injured him I quickly called out the match and took him to the Pokemon centre. I didn't want him to get infected." I looked at Pikachu with concern as now he was sulking a little. "It's okay Pikachu, everyone faces someone stronger than them once in a while." I encouraged him and it sure worked as Pikachu climbed up my shoulder and started licking my cheeks. I giggled at this, Ash smiled at us from the corner of his eyes.
