Alpha/Percy POV

We returned to camp. Beta and I walked behind the seven. They were talking about strategies on how to find me. All of them are stupid, though. They hadn't realized I was behind them.

"Perhaps, I could lead people on pegasi." Jason suggested. "We can look from the air."

Hazel sighed "We don't know where he is, though. He could be anywhere on Earth."

"I would turn into a wolf and try to track him down," Frank stated, "But we have nothing to track him with. He left no belongings at camp."

"This is why I say we set the Shadow Hunters up to track him." Arak said, not looking at us. "We can't risk any important demigods."

I kept a close eye on Arak. I heard he was the grandson of a nymph, but you wouldn't be able to tell up close. He didn't have any nymph-like features, but he was the son of the humans, after all.

Annabeth walked over to me.

"So...Alfie. Are you going to reveal yourself to us or what?" She asked.

I scowled. "First of all, don't call me Alfie. Only close friends can call me that and you definitely aren't one of them. Secondly, no I won't reveal myself unless I choose to. Right now I do not want to."

"Come on! Just one peek?" She tried to lift up my hood as I flinched.

"No Annabeth, please don't! I swore on the River Styx when I first met them that no one would force them to reveal themselves! We already know Pax is Beta. Is that enough for you?" Piper yelled.

Annabeth frowned and backed off.

"Come one, Alfie. Let's continue walking to the lake." Beta held my hand as Annabeth glared at her. I pretended not to notice.

Before we reached the Big House, something erupted out of the woods. It was a snake with a head at both ends. An Amphisbaena.

Chiron gasped. "How did it get into the camp's borders?"

"Wonder how it poops." I muttered as I pulled out Moira.

Beta smirked at me and took out her twin swords. "Enough with the sass. Let's kill this thing already."

Before anyone else could pull out his weapon, Beta and I charged. It wasn't the first Amphisbaena we killed, so we knew where to strike.

Beta leaped onto the snake. The heads tried to spew poison on her, but she was too quick. They ended throwing poison all over themselves.

I fought one head as Beta fought the other. We kept moving farther away, stretching out the snake.

Suddenly the snake stopped fighting me and lunged at Annabeth. Everyone scattered and ran to get weapons. I ran to save Annabeth against my will.

I threw my sword before it could reach Annabeth. She was on the ground about to be eaten. The sword stuck in the side of the snake. Beta jumped forward, and, with her twin blades, she slashed through the belly of the beast.

It exploded into dust.

"My hero!" Annabeth cried and ran to hug me.

I pushed her back into the mud. (A/N This is my favorite part of the chapter!!!!!)

I saw a gathering of nymphs in the forest. The Amphisbaena had trampled over a lot of their friends. They were crying over their deaths.

I ran to them and asked. "Do you have any saplings or seeds? I'll help replant this section of the forest in honor of your fallen friends.

They nodded and ran to get their seeds and saplings.

I walked back to everyone.

Suddenly, a faint gust of wind blew and everyone gasped.
