[ Board Objectives ]

We had started the new season off right by winning the preseason tournament which also gave us a nice little cash boost which was used to bring in former Burnley centerback, Jimmy Dunne.

For our Europa league action, we were drawn against Beştikaş which would be a tough match up but I felt like we could beat them.

The first leg at home would end with them scoring 2 but we managed to sneak in a late goal towards the end. The next leg came soon after and we started off strong, scoring 1 goal within fifteen minutes and added another goal before halftime. Thats when I decided to stop and go for a more possession based type of play which resulted in them pulling a goal back for them, sending it to a penalty shootout where they beat us 5-4.

[ We unfortunately crash out of the Europa League after losing to Besiktas ]

However, crashing out of the Europa league gave us more time to focus on the league with my goal of shooting for 2nd place although 3rd wouldn't be horrible.

I decided to send out three scouts to look for new youth prospects but I made a small rule to myself. I wouldn't buy any scouts over three stars. This was because I knew how overpowered the youth academy system can be and I could easily fill my team with young, high potential players fairly easily.

This way, when the scouts bring back a player who's a true star, it will be so much better and satisfying than if I always get brought back young studs. Hopefully that explanation makes sense.

I sent my scouts to Scotland, Peru and Bolivia (in hopes of finding the next Edwin Sánchez). At the end of the season, I ended up with 3 Scottish youngsters, 2 Peruvian players and 2 Bolivian players.

[ Youth Academy ]

We were also busy in the transfer market which many of the other players getting sold which resulted in me scouring the free agents list for young players or the transfer market for some decent bench players.

I brought in some players who didn't have the highest overall but hopefully through game time and training they can be some great players.

Towards the middle of the season, we found ourselves in poor form where no matter what I tried, whether that be switching the formation up, moving the starting 11 around, nothing I tried could get us out of the poor form we had. We kept drawing games and lost a couple which ultimately played a factor in why we came short of second place.

We did eventually find some good form once the Scottish Cup came around. This however came when there was a ton of games being played and most of players where tired which is why I had to play some reserves.

For the first game, i had started Oli Shaw up front in striker and he brought us a quick goal against St. Johnstone within the first fifteen minutes. I knew we had our next game in three days after this one so I brought him off at halftime for Adebayo Akinfenwa because I had no one else to sub on.

My lord does he love a cup game. Although he was 40 years old, 51 overall and had a pace of 30, he could still score goals. I was honestly surprised at how hard he was putting the ball in the back of the net. He wasn't the fastest player on the pitch by any means but his first touch was surprisingly good. He always found himself in good attacking positions and was able to use his strength to hold off the other players before getting a shot off. He scored the equalizer against St. Johnstone to force a replay.

In the replay, the game was tied 1-1 and was sent into extra time when Harry Paton of all players scored an absolute beauty with Adebayo finishing the game off a few minutes later.

In the quarter finals, we were up against Kilmarnock and Adebayo yet again was on his game. After being subbed on at halftime, he fired home a goal to give us the lead and finished the game off with another solid finish.

We were up against Celtic in the semi finals but couldn't produce any cup magic as we were beat 2 goals to nil. That was a shame because I thought we had done a great job but two silly mistakes cost us the game.

After the spilt, we found ourselves only a few points behind Rangers but a stupid draw against Motherwell proved to be the difference as no matter what the result was on the final day, we wouldn't be able to get second.

I was proud of the boys for what they accomplished and played well for the better part of the season but I can tell the board are anxious for results.

Next season my goal is to either get second or win the Scottish cup. If we can get both that would be fantastic but one or the other would also be great.
