Currently me and Mia were sitting in front of the fascinating idol of Maa MahaKali whilst the elders came to us one by one and blessed us with their blessings and the husked rice and trefoil leaves. Mum and dad were the first one to come followed by maa & papa, chachu and chachi, Rajveer uncle and Twinkle aunty, Prem uncle, Subho maa and then lastly Bhaiya and Bhabhi. All the time during the puja, I kept on glancing at the love of my life who has my heart in the palm of her hand. Who is mine to cherish. Who is mine to love. And mine to protect. Everything she did filled me with a pulsing desire to take her home with me ignoring all the ceremonies and all.
Sometimes I think that I am going crazy in love with her. I loved the way she smiled when she heard something funny and her nose crinkled up. I loved how she didn't care about the world around her and lived in her own imagination. She is so goddamn perfect. Even when I am away from her my thoughts are always consumed by her voice, her laugh. How beautiful she is and the way she stood out among a crowd. I always spent my nights dreaming of her. Making sure she is safe. Safe from the world, safe from the boys, from people. I am in love and instead of my family including Varun and Sid I have never loved a single soul.
I cared for myself and my work. I took care of my employees out of obligation not because I cared. But when it comes to her, it was all different. She is worth so much more. She is worth the wait. She is worth each day spent alone. She is so pure. So innocent. And so mine. I would give her everything. I will spoil her in all the riches I had to offer and more. All she had to do was be beside me in a life filled with laughter, love and most importantly her.
