- He's an Elder of Masuda Village and Toru's great grandfather
- He has an incredible memory and remembers the details of events that he wishes could be forgotten
- He spends the rest of his life with his wife (Toru's great grandmother) Mine (~120 years old) at a lakeside hermitage in the mountains
- Toru's grandparents and father live in the main house next to the hermitage, and they take care of and watch over the Ojiro*
- Sometimes, he will leave to spy on the villagers from the shadows, so you can never be too careful
- He knows all of the villagers weak points
